Spaceships & Aliens

We had all three sisters in the mix for our morning sister pics today!

Jeff and I dropped off the girls like normal, I went to work for just a bit, and then I went down to the Challenger Learning Center to meet Emmie’s class to chaperone a field trip in the middle of the day! They went around to three or four of the classrooms there, doing space missions and crafts and building rockets out of Lego’s. Then we had our picnic lunch out in the plaza, and finished up the trip with popcorn, watch a silly little alien movie in the planetarium.

Afterwards, she didn’t wanna go back to school, and I didn’t wanna go back to work, but we both managed to make it through the rest of the day, before it was time to head home again. I made what my parents coined “redneck chicken parmesan” for dinner, which is just those little chicken patties baked first, then topped with marinara & mozzarella and broiled in the oven. And we had it with a side of broccoli and cheese tortellini, with last week’s leftover meat sauce from when we had spaghetti. Super simple, very yummy.

I got the stinky girlies into the bath after dinner, and then got them both in fresh jammies. Addison finished eating her dinner at the coffee table (Emerson had not only finished her whole plate, but had even gotten extra tortellini), and then we let them both have some of their Easter candy. Addie had “found” her Little Mermaid doll while we did a quick tidy up in her room earlier, and then carried her around the rest of the night. But she also had this cow & pig in the living room from last night, so she had whole armful of friends to take back to her bed when it was bedtime.

We did the usual bedtime stuff with Addie Pie in her room, and then Emmie and I had some side-by-side reading time together in her room, before doing her usual bedtime routine.

I accidentally left my little earbuds on my desk at the office, and I hate washing dishes without an audio book to listen to or a show to watch, so I think I’m just not gonna do it tonight….
