Emerson was still a little whiny & sensitive this morning, and only wanted Mommy to get her dressed for school, even though I was still getting dressed for work myself. I was also running late on my own, so with all that, I ended up being 30 minutes late to work. But we did finally make it out of the house, and she was fine, and drop-off went smooth-ish 😉
Also, poor girl fell in the driveway yesterday (running up the hill to see some doggies our neighbors were walking), and got that little bump/scrape/bruise up there on the top left of her forehead.
For lunch today, I had my leftover grilled chicken & roasted potatoes from Saturday night’s dinner. I felt extra fancy because I actually brought my own small salad-sized plate from home, so I would have a good cutting-surface. I usually just eat straight out of whatever container I bring it in, but having this plate today was nice! It’s the small things in life sometimes, right!?
We got this photo from her teachers this morning, of Emerson and her best-friend-twins, that said they were building the International Space Station! Then their mama messaged me about it, saying she had sat with them at drop-off this morning and they all talked about the ISS since they sat outside and watched it fly over Tally together. I guess the twins were still talking all about it today, and so that’s why the caption said they were building it this morning! So fun! (And you can tell how tiny my Emmie girl is, sandwiched between her two besties, who are only about 10 or so days older than her.)
When we got home after work and school, Emmie and I both wanted to get comfy, so we immediately put on our jammies, then Emerson fed Pretzel his dinner.
And then I made Bleu cheese chicken burgers from a Weight Watchers recipe. My boss Tammy told me about these, and I made them once before, and they were so delicious! We had yellow rice and Caesar salad with the burgers, and it was a great meal. I even made Emmie a chicken burger, but only with mayo on her bun. She actually wanted to try a bite of the bleu cheese while I was putting them together, but she did not like the stinky cheese 😉
Saying our dinner prayers, with a crouton in her mouth already…
Emmie got a bath after dinner, and then we put on a new onesie Nana had gotten her for Christmas. It’s going to get super stinking cold again tonight, so this flannel onesie should keep her nice & cozy & warm!
Bedtime went well, and after books and prayers, she gave me lots of sweet hugs and loves and kisses. I forced myself to wash all the dishes, even though I was just not in the mood for it tonight. But I’m glad that’s done, and the kitchen is clean, and now it’s time to relax! We started watching “A Star is Born” last night, and even though we’re like, two years late, the first half of the movie was amazing, and I’m dying to watch the second half tonight.
