We made sure to get up and out of the house on time today, or maybe a few minutes early, so we could grab lunch for Addie. I had plenty of snacks to pack, but nothing for her “main dish,” so we stopped at the fancy gas station to get her a Lunchable to include in her lunch box.
But before we left home this morning, I put a frozen smoked bacon pork loin in the crockpot with some diced onions and a little bit of water (don’t get mad at me, Bo! 🤣), then just made some rice and peas when we got home. I actually got the girls into the bath while the rice was cooking, the steamed the peas while they got dressed. Jeff went back out to pick up a small Walmart grocery order to get us through the rest of the week, and drop off some some computer stuff at Goodwill for a lady he was helping out. So it was just me and these cuties, watching “The Fox and the Hound” while we ate dinner in the living room.
Jeff also gassed up the car while he was out, and I saved him a plate to eat when he got home. I spent a few minutes getting things cleaned up from dinner, and just some general tidying-up on the counter. Then we all cuddled up to watch some PB&J Otter together before the girls’ bedtime. I also got everything prepped and ready for some nighttime tea, for after the girls were in bed. Megan brought me back these three little individual sachets of fancy tea from Alaska, and luckily one of them is caffeine free so I could drink it at bedtime.
So we did the girls’ bedtime, and Emmie was conked out first as usual, and then Pennie went down to visit Addie for a bit too before she fell asleep.
And then I went back to fix my tea. The caffeine-free one was the Solstice Sunshine. It’s a subtle, sweet lemony flavor, and it’s very good! I really love the name, and Meg said she did too, and chose it for me partially because of the color (yellow is her fave color), and partially because of the great name.
I love she had now brought me home tea from both her trip to Hawaii a few years ago, and now tea from her trip to Alaska! Love that girl 🥰
