Jeff and the girls let me sleep in this morning, so by the time I was getting out of bed and getting coffee, Jeff and Addie were already at Home Depot getting supplies for a backyard project.

We had a stay-at-home day for chores, so I put away a bunch of clean dishes, and washed up everything else I could find. I folded a load of clean clothes, gathered up a basket of dirty clothes, and Jeff got that load started. He worked on his backyard project, and Emmie and I cleaned up in her room. She cleaned out the drawer of her toy cabinet, and everything on top of it, and we ended up with a bag of trash, and a bag to donate. Meanwhile, Elsa just played with everything we found, and pulled things out of the trash bag that she deemed she needed.

Jeff also put some particle board backing onto the bookshelf we bought off Facebook Marketplace a month or so ago. I think usually it’s used for those storage cubes, but we wanted to use it for Emmie’s books, but didn’t want them falling out the back. We bought the more expensive option that was already white on one side, so that we didn’t have to spend time or money painting it white.

The girls also got in plenty of outside time in between all of our chores and projects, with Addie still dressed as Elsa, and Pennie rolling around in the yard with them.

And here’s her new shelf! Jeff had to move the wall shelf up a few inches to make room, but it looks great! We’ve also been working on cataloging her little library, so we did that as we started stocking this shelf tonight. We definitely still have more books to put up here, but not enough to fill it up yet, so she’ll have space to grow.

Oh and we found these awesome vintage Boxcar Children books we recently collected, that we added to our list and her shelf.

Late this afternoon we finally got ready to leave the house. We stopped by Circle K for slushies for the girls, and Polar Pop’s for Jeff and me (diet for me).

Then a drive-by at the library, to drop off a few books, and pick up one book on hold. Lately, we’ve let Emerson start doing some things to learn how to be independent. She already knows where the holds are and how to find my books, so I’ve let her run in a couple of times with my library bar code on my phone app, and she handles everything like a big girl, looking like a precious little almost-pre-teen!

Stopped by the giant Little Free Library at the front of Deer Lake MS, and found a few more vintage Boxcar books for Emmie.

Then we went and spent the evening at my parents’ house! We sat on the back patio while the girls played, and Grandmommie made Addie some hot chocolate in a teeny tiny espresso mug.

We had some dinner together, cleaning up leftovers from everything she cooked this past week, and then the girls had a bath, and some more cuddle and hang out time. The girls obviously played so hard they fell asleep in the car on the ride home, and then fell back asleep almost immediately once we got them in bed at home.
