I’m going to break up the 3-day Disney weekend into 3 separate posts, because it’s just too much to squeeze into one post! We took about 400-ish photos between Mama and I, and I got it whittled down to about 125 for Facebook & these blog posts, so that’s still pretty good, I’d say 😉 (Also, if we can work it out, Jeff might write another separate “guest post” about his weekend at home with Addison.)
Anyways, on Friday morning, I actually dropped off both girls at school, because Emerson still wanted to go to her Junior Gym class before hitting the road to Orlando.
I went out to my parents’ house to get our stuff loaded into the Jeep, then all three of us went back to pick her up together. Grammy brought her an activity bag for the road, with a lap tray, and the sparkly pink & purple Minnie Mouse ears she picked out herself!
Our first road trip stop was for donuts in Perry, which were super yummy.
And a couple of hours later, our second stop was lunch at the Southern Pig & Cattle in Ocala for lunch. They had a salad bar, which I loved and was very excited for, and Emmie loved their boiled eggs & cottage cheese, alongside her kids meal.
We finally made it to Orlando around 3pm-ish, so we went to wander around Disney Springs and a few of the Disney resorts. Emerson also got to go on her first ever bus ride, which she has been dying to do since she was about 1 year old. And she was thrilled, just for the bus ride! And hey, her first ever bus ride was a Disney bus ride!
The other big highlight of the afternoon was riding the Skyliner! When we first took off, I was honestly a little nervous, but with the breeze coming through the car, and flying above the resorts and a little pond, it was beautiful, and such a cool, neat experience.
After walking a few miles on Friday afternoon, we had dinner at Huey Magoo’s (on the suggestion from Megan & Bo) and this buffalo chicken sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had.
Emerson wanted to swim in the pool when we went back to the hotel, but once we dipped in a few toes, we realized it was freezing, and we decided to skip that idea. Instead, she splashed around her bathing suit in the bathtub for a while, and then we eventually snuggled up together and went to sleep.
