Sister’s 30th Birthday Dinner

Sheppy was looking super cute this morning, hanging out up there on the advent calendar. Of course Emmie found him right away as soon as she walked out of her room, and got very excited about it!

She wore a cute new outfit from Nana, and cute new sandals I ordered from Amazon. She put on one glove in the car and wore just the one all the way to school, where she finally asked me to hand her with the other one, and she put it on by herself.

Emerson took a full two-hour nap at school today, and her report said she made Christmas light with her fingerprints. Looks like she had fun playing with all her little friends.

Grammy and Grandmommie picked up Emerson from school a little bit early today, and we all headed over to Megan and Bo’s house to celebrate Meg’s 30th birthday, with bit family breakfast. Meg’s favorite meal right now is Bo’s stuffed French toast, so that’s what she requested, and we all benefited from such a delicious choice! It’s seriously sooo good. He also makes some toppings for it too, today was blueberry & strawberry, which just take it over the top.

Emmie chose to eat her meal in the floor next to the table, and although it was a strange choice, she ate well and was fine down there!

Bo took Ellie to get a bath, and Emerson decided she wanted to go too. So she hopped in with Ellie, and then stayed in while the babies switched out. She borrowed a pair of their jammies and socks, and all the girls were so cute and clean and smelled so good!

My poor Mama slipped in some mud after a big rain last weekend, and fell straight on her behind. She went to the doctor Monday, had an MRI Tuesday, and found out today she has a minor compression fracture  on her back, and has to wear this brace for a while.

This is them trying to play ring around the rosie together, but Ellie didn’t wanna hold anyone’s hand but Emmie’s, so they never quite made it into a circle, but just a long line wandering around singing and then collapsing in a heap on the floor together!

Bo was pretending to sleep, and would then wake up and holler and scare the girls, and they all four thought it was the best, funniest thing.

Meggie opened up her presents after we put the babies down, and Emmie sat right up in her business, watching and handing her everything one after the other.

As we were starting to give hugs and loves to head out, Emmie got close to Meg and sniffed and was like, “Wait, what’s that smell?” And got up close and personal sniffing Meg’s face, because she liked the smell of her minty Burt’s Bees lip balm (which her and I are both obsessed with). She sniffed her again and said, “Mmmm, smells so good!”

Aunt Meggie and Emmie love each other so much, and I love their sweet relationship.

Emmie didn’t want to go to sleep tonight (when does she ever?), but she did settle down eventually and went to sleep. Jeff and I have both had ourselves a mug of hot tea already, and it’s time to watch a bit of a Christmas movie to wind down before bedtime.
