Shanka’s Wedding Shower

Got to start off the day with my delicious coffee from the Frother’s Daughter truck at my office building. Got the same “Frothwood Mac” for the third week in a row from their June specials.

And Daddy took silly little Addie Pie to school, wearing her adorable denim skort that she’s really into right now. Also, after I picked out her outfit and laid it out on my bed for her, she got herself dressed totally on her own for the first time! What a big girl!

At the office this afternoon, we hosted a little post-wedding-shower party for my friend Shanka, who eloped in Vegas a few weeks ago! We even convinced her to re-wear her gorgeous wedding gown for the party! This girl is always extra, so she went full gown, sky-high heels, and “Mrs.” headband to top it all off. We did a “gift card shower” instead of gifts, with lots of good snacks and some good party punch to go with it. She looked beautiful, and we had a nice little party!

This was less than half of the whole group, but just a bunch of folks who hopped in together for a group photo towards the end of things.

Then we pulled in the members of our little unit to make sure we got a picture with the eight of us.

Shanka called our Chief Michelle & Assistant Chief Lee her “Bureau parents” for this photo 🤣

After picking up Addie from school this afternoon, we met up with Jeff at home, and then went right back out to Publix. I didn’t feel like cooking dinner again this week (I’m not really in the mood to do much of any chores or things this week), and the popcorn chicken meal with two sides and a roll was only $5 on sale this week. So we got two meals and a giant mango lemonade and shared everything. And since I had a bunch of late-afternoon snacks at the office party, I wasn’t too hungry, so we still had leftovers even after all three of us ate.

Then we did some BOGO shopping, to get things like laundry detergent, coffee creamer, cereal and snacks. Plus popsicles for Addie to take for her class water day tomorrow morning.

Addie was a very sweet helper putting away the groceries with Mommy, and collecting all the plastic bags. She had to test out one of the popsicles for her little snack tonight, while we watched Bluey, and then we moved to our bed to read some books and have some snuggles.

Today was Emerson’s first full day at camp, and late tonight Megan sent just two photos, where they basically adopted Emmie and her bestie Daisy into their little Walker family group for the boat ride around the springs today.

There are of course chores and things I should be doing tonight, but like I said, I’m just not in the mood for normal chores and responsibilities this week, so those things are just gonna have to wait, and “Future Halie” will have to deal with that…
