Tonight was open house for elementary school, so we went with Gilchrist red for fun. (Also, pay attention, because coincidentally, there’s something red in almost every picture in the post today, except for just two or three.)
Such sweet little lovey girls.
Even Daddy wore a red shirt today! (I do have a red dress, but it wasn’t clean, so unfortunately I wasn’t quite in on things.)
Every morning at the office this week, I’ve been smelling someone make their breakfast, and it smelled like garlic bread. Today I actually saw who it was, and asked what she was making, and she said it was everything but the bagel bread, that she made avocado toast on. I said that sounds like a great idea and that I’d have to try it one day, and next thing I know, she showed up and gave me this beautiful creation, and it was soooo good. Especially with that balsamic vinegar on it.
Then I packed up all my stuff and headed to the conference room for the morning, to conduct interviews as a supervisor for the first time. I’m hiring a new employee to fill my old position, so we did interviews in there today, with a view of the capital from the window!
The triplets wanted to go back to daycare today to visit their old favorite teachers, and Addie got in on all the action too.
There was so much traffic after work today, but eventually I made it to Gilchrist to pick up Emmie, and Jeff made it to Growing Room to pick up Addie. Then we met up at Sonny’s to get in one car, and headed back to Gilchrist for open house night. Emmie got to show us her little desk, and her cute little writing journal. She wrote this about our day last weekend, which (translated) says, “I went to my aunt’s house. At my aunt’s house, we took pictures of the new born baby. Then we went to Publix and got chicken. Then we got in the car and went home.” Picture on the far left is Hayden’s baseball lamp, crib, and even the baby on the floor. Then middle picture is the popcorn chicken container. And on the right is my black car. 🙂
They have a really lush, abundant garden in the middle of the school, full of fruit and veggies and flowers. These sunflowers are literally like 8 feet tall! And there are a few watermelon’s growing in the patch too. (And these are the two pics with no red in them.)
We went back over to Sonny’s for dinner afterwards, hoping it would be quick, since they usually are. But good gracious they took foreverrrr today. Eventually, the waitress told us our ticket was lost, so it took like 40 minutes after we ordered before we had food. And then the half of the fries were overcooked, and the other half were undercooked and Addie’s chicken was way overcooked too. But the manager comped both of the kids’ meals, and the waitress was super sweet, and we worked hard to keep the girls entertained while we waited, so it all worked out fine…
Oh and I forgot to say it earlier, but this is one of Emmie’s old hand me down dresses that Addie wore today, and I loved it on her.
Had to get some Pennie snuggles before bedtime, and even though Pennie might not look like she was enjoying it, she actually really was and just wanted to lay there forever with the girls loving all over her. (And there’s no red in this picture either.)
We had a great day today! Hope you did too! 🙂
