This tiny girl in her pineapple dress was ready for another fun day and week at school!
After listening to the first Harry Potter book on audio a few months ago during #HarryPotterAtHome month, and loving it so much, I decided I would continue listening to the entire series. But they’re very popular, so I had to wait a while for my library hold to come through! Very much enjoying re-reading the series through audio.
Aunt Meggie stopped by Growing Room for a quick visit today, and got to see Emerson for a few minutes while she was there. She said Emerson was confused why she was there! (Megan used to be the assistant director, but had to move jobs last summer once the triplets came. But Emerson used to see her there every day and was very spoiled by that!)
Jeff and I went on our walk today out in the heat and humidity. We took another new route (well, the same part of what we walked last Thursday, but just further/longer than before), and we ended up having to go back UP a humongous hill and it was just too much! But we made it 1.8 miles, and that’s not too shabby.
This is a relatively new house that was built in our neighborhood, and I just think it’s super adorable!
We found a HUGE tree in a neighbors yard, FULL of all these little buds/blossoms. We have no idea what they are though?! Does anyone recognize this? We don’t even know if it’s going to a fruit/vegetable or a flower, but we’re very curious!
Emerson told me she had a good day at school today. She also told me all about the s’mores they had for afternoon snack. I asked her what was in the s’mores and she said, “chocolate, cookies, and washmellas.” So cute & funny!
While I was gone picking up Emerson from school, Jeff and the boys worked hard to clean up the kitchen stove & counter-tops, and the dining room table, to get us back into better working order. We’re obviously not completely done with the cabinets, but it’s starting to feel like we’re finally getting close! So for an easy meal we had “spaghetti” & meatballs, but I used rigatoni noodles, which I really loved, and so did Emerson! And anyways, I think “rigatoni & meatballs” has a nice ring to it.
We had a little bit of family cuddle and tv time after dinner, before finally heading off to get Emerson ready for bed. She was very serious about picking a book tonight, and eventually need a little help from Ryan to decide on one.
Then we did two rounds of nursery rhymes with Mother Goose, while this cutie snuggled her unicorn on top of my leg, sweetly patting my leg.
She did good at bedtime, and even though she kept trying to tell me she wasn’t sleepy, once she was laying down in her crib and snuggled in, she was quiet as a mouse and asleep in no time.
I already washed most of the dishes immediately after dinner earlier, and the others can wait until tomorrow. We decided to start the Star Wars series last night, but since I fell asleep on the couch after just 45 minutes, we didn’t get very far. I think Jeff and the boys are actually working to set up their x-box & PC back in their room, so I’m going to read a bit while they finish that up, and then maybe we’ll watch a little bit more of the movie before I fall asleep again 😉
