Riding Lawn Mower

Sweet little matching Stitch girlies, ready to get back to our regularly scheduled programming!

Jeff took this picture of Addie walking into school, and she just looks like such a big girl (but also the tiniest girl!) with her little backpack!

Got a couple of pictures of Addie at school today, in fact, looking like she’s having a good time, learning and playing!

And Emerson and I started a cute little audio book for our summer day camp commutes together, which is just precious so far.

Then tonight after picking up both girls from school and camp, little Addie Pie wanted to “help” Mommy make dinner. I saw a video for a wonton noodle soup recently and wanted to try it out, so as usual, I watched a few more videos and combined some of the recipes, and then added my own extra veggies that I had in the fridge that needed to be used. Plus all the things pictured below, I also added soy sauce and a packet of ramen noodles.

After lots of cereal this weekend, we were almost out of bowls for the soup tonight, so Emmie ate hers in a coffee mug. I put crispy wonton strips on everyone’s bowls, and as I was loading up my own with giant handfuls of diced green onions and chopped cilantro, Addison said, “Mommy, pleeease don’t put all that grass on my bowl!” I thought that was so funny and I was just dying laughing at her.

Jeff is never really a fan of soup, but he was a champ and ate this anyways. But the girls and I really liked it! Honestly, the dumplings didn’t really hold up well and were all soggy by the end of dinner, but it was still good.

Jeff went right outside after dinner to keep working on the mower (he had also taken a super fast trip to Home Depot after work), and he officially got it up and running and mowing and chugging along! So he kept on going after the test run, and was able to get our whole front meadow mowed down, after not being mowed for the past month or so. And the girls and I were all so excited for him and proud of him!

So after living in our house for almost 9 years, on our half-acre, Jeff finally has a riding lawn mower, like he’s been wishing for the whole time! This one used to be my Granddaddy’s mower before he passed away in 2016, just a few days before we moved in here. So now we have another piece of him here with us, in this house he didn’t get to see, but we still have him to thank for this blessing in Jeff’s home-owners’ arsenal.

So then of course since Jeff was finishing up outside, I took care of a one-parent-put-down, and things actually went really smoothly, after a bit of craziness and hopping about on the bed. But both of these cuties have been moved to their own beds by now, Jeff finished up outside, and he’s getting cleaned up inside now.

And now it’s my turn to go get some dishes washed up, and finish cleaning up the kitchen. Luckily, tonight’s dinner was all a one-pot meal, but there’s still lots of other dishes still piled to deal with. So, it’s time for ear buds and an audio book and chores.
