This tiny goofball was very excited about another water day Friday, in her birdie bathing suit again! Also, she specifically requested a tiny bun in her hair, and I was happy to oblige. I think it looks pretty cute, even if it is a little messy 😉
Back at home, I quickly fried up a couple of eggs and made Jeff and I both an egg & cheese bagel for breakfast. (The boys sleep till past 10am, so they’re on their own to grab a PopTart whenever they finally wake up.) And it was soo good.
We got back out for another walk today, after taking a couple of days off. It was super humid, so even though the Saharan dust cloud made it not-so-sunny, we were still super hot & sweaty. But we made it 2.1 miles today, so that was good.
Some our neighbors’ banana trees are producing these flower pod things, which eventually leads to the growth of bananas. They don’t have any yet, but they might get some soon! (We don’t even have any of the pods yet.)
And look at this beautiful photo my Mama took today! Complete with a bumble bee and everything!
And my girl had another great day at water day with all her little friends!
I made myself a delicious snack (chocolate rice cake with peanut butter, cool whip, pecans & chocolate chips) with an iced coffee for an afternoon pick-me-up.
After picking Emerson up from school, we headed over to Jeff’s’ parents’ church. PopPop had picked up the boys from our house before lunch, and they spent the afternoon doing some yard work for Nana. They then went to their church to help set up for a yard sale they’re having tomorrow, and will spend the night with them tonight, so we went for a quick visit so Emmie could see her brothers for a bit.
We left the boys there helping out, and we picked up dinner from Mr. Roboto’s on the way back home. This girl loved the mini egg rolls (she ate one whole one, and the one on her plate below is her 2nd one), and really went to town with that yum-yum sauce. She was spooning bits of it onto her rice, then looked up at me so seriously and asked, “Can I just pour it out on the rice, Mommy?” (I love that little tongue poking out.)
Since we had a late dinner, we didn’t have time for much other than a few minutes of videos and snuggles on the couch, before heading to get ready for Emmie’s bedtime. We found a “Frozen” Little Golden Book in her little library tonight, and she was very interested in it.
And she’s still very much loving Mother Goose every night.
I had a sudden wave of exhaustion hit me hard during her bedtime routine tonight, and I’m honestly not feeling too great. So it’s now my bedtime too. Hoping I’ll wake up feeling better in the morning, because we have a lot of work to do tomorrow, to hopefully, finally finish up the kitchen cabinets this weekend. If we work hard and if we’re lucky, maybe it’ll happen…
