Retro Breakfast

In honor of Grandparent’s Day, GC Kids hosted a cute little retro diner themed breakfast for the kids with the Grandparents. So obviously we invited Grammy and Papa to come this morning, for allll their grandkids, for a retro diner-themed breakfast at GC!

Beautiful sister pics after church today, since we arrived at different times this morning. I had to be there at 8am for worship choir rehearsal, and Emmie went with me. Then Jeff had to be there at 8:30 with the rest of the band & tech team, as he was running the words and videos in the sound booth, and Addie came with him. But I love these pics on the opposite side of the church from where we usually park, underneath the giant, beautiful oak trees!

And we were lucky we got to eat lunch with Grammy & Papa today after church too! Culver’s was Emerson’s choice, and it didn’t take much to convince everyone. We all ordered kids meals, so we could get the free ice cream coupon, and the Oreo overload was delish.

After lunch, Addie and I napped together, Jeff did some yard work, and Emerson kept herself busy. She worked on some bracelets and watched The Princess Diaries for the first time (we started the first 20-ish minutes last night), and then when she finished that, she started on the second movie too! The girls did some coloring together once Addie and I woke up, while Jeff got cleaned up and showered.

I put on my Frother’s Daughter t-shirt, and made myself an iced coffee in my Frother’s Daughter glass, and then we headed back to church for our bi-weekly dinner and Connect Groups.

We had a great dinner (chicken & rice with salad and green beans), and then a great class (reading and discussing some verses from the first chapter of James), and then saw these beautiful fluffy pink clouds on our drive home.

Emmie was super tired and just wanted to lay down and read as soon as we got home, then she couldn’t sleep, so she popped up and we read some more, and I finished my book.

The copy of “Ordinary Time” I read was from the library, but I loved it so much, I want to buy a copy for myself. There were so many lines and phrases and honestly whole paragraphs that I want to underline and highlight and practically memorize. This book was written by Tallahassee native (and a fellow NFC alum), that now owns The Bookshelf in Thomasville. So I think it would be fun to take a little drive up there sometime and buy the book straight from her store! Hopefully we can work that out soon.
