Another day for the girls to spend the day with their Nana! Addie picked out her own dress today, which is a new-to-her hand-me-down from her big sister, and although it was slightly too big still, it was super cute on her.
Jeff took both girls to Nana’s house today, so I was on my own heading in to the office. I finally loaded the Starbucks gift card into my app that my employees gave me back in June, and ordered myself a caramel macchiato and a bacon & egg sandwich.
I’d never had this sandwich before, and this croissant-like bread was so super good!
Started a new library book today, “The Love Haters,” and also got out a new bookmark I got from the library, and both are so summery and cute with that bright turquoise color that I love so much. I haven’t necessarily read more this summer than any other months, but I like the little quote on it that says, “Summer is my Reading Season.”
Nana and the girls had a good day today, even having lunch downtown at Metro Deli with Nana’s group of retired friends! They actually napped today too, and then they each got to pick a small prize from Five Below, for being good at lunch and napping today.
Jeff and I picked up the girls from Nana’s house after work, and then the four of us had dinner at Panda Express. Jeff had had a late lunch, so Emmie had a kids bowl, and Addie and I shared a big plate, and then Jeff just cleaned up the scraps of everything we didn’t eat, which was still quite a good bit left for him. And so we all ate for only $18, which was a steal.
Tonight was “awards night” for the girls and boys classes at church tonight, so each little group went up on stage and did a few things (like either a song, or a Bible verse, or a song), and then their teachers presented them with the “badges” they earned this past semester. The whole thing is a very cute affair, and always a fun Wednesday night.
And of course we had to stop by and see Baby Hayden in the toddler room on our way out of church at the end of the night!
The girls were totally wound up and crazy when we got home, so it took a little while to get them both to sleep, especially since I was doing it on my own, because Jeff decided when we got home at 8:30, he was going to try to mow the front yard! So then it was about 9:30 before he finally finished up and showered, and both girls were just barely still awake at that point, but they finally fell asleep shortly after everything settled down…
