Reaching Reading Goals

Before Addie went to school today, she had to buckle in “her baby” that she’s been obsessed with the last few days, and toting around with her everywhere.

And then Jeff took like 15 pictures of them all over the place at school, in various states of looking and smiling, so here’s the best we got 🙂 (Also, Emmie has been wearing her jacket like this on purpose lately, after seeing other girls do it, but it just seems like it would annoy me personally to have it hanging off like that!)

Tonight was another gymnastics night for Emmie, and another nice chunk of reading time for me.

Jeff got Addie and took her home, and he finished up dinner. I made crock-pot Salisbury steaks this morning, so he just made some rice, corn & lima beans to go with it. He and Addie ate before we got home, then he fixed Emmie’s plate and I fixed my own plate, and two leftover containers for work lunches this week.

Oh, and a week or so ago, Emerson already made her AR (“accelerated reader”) Goal for this first nine weeks, in only four weeks! That means, she read and tested on multiple books in her reading level, earned enough points to meet her goal, and had an average score of 80% overall. I’m so proud of her for meeting the goal so quickly already, and doing so well so far in third grade!

(For the record, my Goodreads reading goal every year is 100 books, and I’m currently two books ahead of schedule at 72 books. So I’m reaching my reading goals too, thank you very much. 😄)

And now, I’m off to wash more dishes and watch more TSITP on my phone while I work.
