Brushed her teeth after getting dressed….
Only to decide she wanted some popcorn as her morning snack… And I didn’t just catch her mid-bite in this photo, she was actually frozen still like that, completely absorbed in watching one of her little videos. So funny!
But she was a sweet, happy girl at drop-off, just like usual! We are still doing lobby-only drop-offs (teacher meets us there to take the kids to the classrooms), but she does better with this than whenever I would take her back to the class, so I don’t mind it one bit! She gives me a hug & a kiss, and then just marches off like a big girl, with no whining or anything!
It was dark and rainy, and all I wanted to do was nap the rest of the afternoon, but I kept busy, and was very productive on my lunch break today! I diced some onions & peppers, and then sauteed that with ground turkey & garlic, doing some prep work for dinner…
I ate lunch and then read for a few minutes, and then rearranged / tidied-up / settled in at my new “work desk,” since it seems I might be here longer. (Just got word today there was a positive covid case on my floor in our building.) I also needed to be able to close-up shop easier at the end of the day, so that we could still use the dining table for dinner on rainy days and/or when it’s too hot to bear eating on the back patio.
So a little while ago, I decided I wanted to start collecting the cute little figures of all the cool female movie/book characters. I already had Batgirl & Hermione (both little Lego’s projects the boys/Jeff gave me as gifts and I put together) displayed on my window sill at work, so I wanted more to join them. Jeff & Emerson got me two more for Mother’s Day, so I decided they should just sit here on my home desk for a while, until I go back to full-time at the office. So now Rey (from Star Wars) & Captain Marvel (from the Marvel Avengers universe) keep my company during the day, and I think they’re adorable!
Looks like my baby girl had a good day at school, and was taking care of her own baby today.
I don’t know what they were doing with this little bag full of stuff, but I love the way Emmie and her teacher, Miss Jessica, are looking at each other so excitedly in that second photo!
After finishing up work, I went and picked up my girl really quickly and headed back home. I had also cooked a pot of brown rice during the day (man that stuff takes forever), so that when I got home after picking up Emerson, there wasn’t too much more prep work to do for dinner. I used my sauteed turkey I made at lunch, plus the rice & some pasta sauce, to make stuffed zucchini, with the cute little cannonball or 8-ball zucchini, a la stuffed peppers.
I washed up all the dishes I had used so far after getting the food in the oven, and then we watched some videos and we watched the rain.
And look how good these turned out! The stuffing mixture I made was absolutely delicious, and I just wanted to eat that stuff with a spoon. I only used about half of the ground turkey & brown rice I made, so I’m thinking I wanna use those leftovers to make stuffed peppers in a couple of days, because it was so good!
One half of the table: WFH office desk; the other half of the table: dinner table for three! 🙂
On the way home from school earlier, she kept repeating stuff about “drama llama, stop the drama llama,” so after dinner, we read “Llama Llama Red Pajama,” while cuddling her two stuffed llamas, followed by watching part of an episode of the Netflix Llama Llama show.
She was wound up after three chocolate-covered almonds and half of a Capri-Sun, so we let her run around and jump around and just go a little crazy trying to burn off some energy before bedtime. She did good after that, and we were able to get her calmed down and in bed pretty easily. I washed up the few dishes from dinner, while Jeff worked on taking out the trash & recycling. Things are all taken care of around the house, so it’s time to relax now!
