Rainstorms

Another day full of rain, another day spent at home, Emmie hanging out with Nana.

They were even able to sneak outside for a little bit of time in the great outdoors, before it started literally flooding here right before lunch time.

She had an egg salad sandwich for lunch, then wanted to change back into her jammies for nap time. We read “The Little Engine That Could,” I sang her lullabies, and she went down super easy for her nap.

She slept really well, and then had a good afternoon playing and doing all sorts of fun things.

Even though I “cooked” dinner a couple of times last week (boiling water for noodles, and heating up Trader Joe’s Chinese food barely counts), I feel like tonight was really the first time I’ve actually cooked in about three weeks. So of course I made our favorite sausage frittatta. Then to go with it, I just “cooked” the steam-in-bag baby potatoes, so that was a piece of cake.

Emmie prayed for our dinner tonight… twice. It was very sweet.

This is my masterpiece that Emmie requested me to draw. Under the left umbrella is Daddy, then under the center umbrella is Nana (on the left), Emmie, and Mommy, and we’re all holding hands together in the storm. Pretty sweet!

These two were being super cute and cuddly together before bedtime.

Emmie chose her two bedtime books, asked me to read the sweet bunny book, and wanted Daddy to read the Star Wars book.

We were away from home in Jacksonville for 10 days, and it took about 7 days for Emmie to get back to her regular bedtime routine. We had about a week of really rough bedtimes, but tonight and last night (and maybe the night before? I can’t remember…) things have gone super smooth and easy, and I’m very, very grateful for that.

I had a pretty crazy, busy day at work today, and I’m feeling super exhausted. I doubt it’ll be long at all before I’m falling asleep on the couch 🙂
