Puzzle Swap

Today has been a great, busy day! I first took Emerson to meet up with Meg, Bo and their kids, so she could spend the day with them. We got some loves and laughs from baby brother too.

Then I treated myself to a much-overdo pedicure, and got to read my book for a nice long time.

Then I needed giant coffee for energy for the rest of the day. They always do special things on the 7th of each month, and today they were giving out these cute little motel key chains.

When I got to Walmart for our grocery pick-up order, there were NO other cars there waiting, and that was such a strange, rare sight, that I had to hurriedly snap a photo for proof!

Once I got back home, Nana was there waiting, and we went to town doing chores and cleaning the house. Together, we: washed dishes, cleaned the kitchen floors and the kitchen counter, folded about four loads of laundry, cleaned Addison’s room, cleaned Emerson’s room, changed the sheets on the girls’ beds, cleaned the girls’ bathroom, vacuumed both girls’ rooms, vacuumed the living room, put away and hung up all the clean clothes we folded, and probably a few more things I forgot about. We stopped in the middle of all that for some lunch from Chick-fil-A, but we worked for about four hours today, and got SO much done. There’s just something about having Nana over to help out that makes all of us work harder!

After all of that, we left Jeff at home working on packing for his upcoming trip, and Addison and I went to the downtown library. Grammy met us there, and we attended our first-ever puzzle swap together. Honestly, we were a little skeptical going in to it, but it turned out so fun, and we had a great time! There were about 20 people swapping, and at least 150 puzzles. Everyone gets a number, and numbers are called randomly in pairs to choose a puzzle. We did five rounds of that, and then it was a free-for-all at the end for everyone to choose any more they wanted, and the rest were saved for next time. Mom and I brought 8 puzzles together, but we both ended up taking home 8 new-to-us, each! We definitely want to go back and do this again, the next time they do this in another few months!

Plus, Grammy won these little “pluzzles” (plushie puzzles) as a door-prize, and gave them to Addie Pie!

Grammy got the 8 on the left, and I got the 7 on the right, plus the small reddish one in the middle that Addie chose.

And Addie took this picture of us!

We went back home to pick up Jeff after the puzzle swap, and we went out for an early dinner at Charley’s Cheesesteak’s. Bo actually sent me a screenshot this morning about $4.99 philly’s (chicken or steak) for customer appreciation day, and that worked out perfectly for our dinner tonight. And even this tiny girl loved her sandwich! And just look at the size of that bite!

We ran into Five Below super fast to pick out birthday presents for the triplets (I already had a few things, but I needed a few more things), and then an even faster quick through Aldi for Jeff to grab some Chomps for his airplane carry-on bag, and some marshmallows by Addie’s special request 🙂

Emmie stayed with the trips all day, and went with them on their special birthday activity of getting their ears pierced. They played in the sprinkler on the trampoline all afternoon, and then get dressed for a fancy dinner at Osaka! Their little bestie Maddie from church and school has also been there with them all day. (But Emmie gets to stay overnight for a sleepover!)

Addie had a nice long bubble bath when we got home, and then some snuggle time on the couch with me and Pennie.

Since Emerson is still with the triplets (having a sleepover!), I convinced Addison to sleep in her own bed, in her own room, for the first time in who even knows how long! She actually told me she was a little nervous, but we had a good talk about it, read a few books, and listened to all the lullabies, and she was out like a light.

Jeff has been finishing up some packing stuff and hanging up some more clean clothes while I’ve been writing this. He should be just about done by now, so we’re going to watch some YouTube videos about Moldova from a travel vlogger we found last night, to get a feel for where he’ll be next week.

Today was a really great day!
