Purple Popcorn

My baby girl was so sweet and excited at school this morning. And even though this first picture was blurry, she still looked adorable and I liked it.

Also, she woke up with quite the bedhead today. This messiness was even after we brushed it once, then wet it and brushed it again!

I had a leftover chicken burger with the caremelized onions from last night for my lunch today, and I even took that new fancy mustard with me, and it was delicious. I’ve also been very into diet ginger ale lately (my MIL always keeps it on hand and I finally bought a 12-pack for myself), so I’ve been bringing one to work for lunch everyday.

Emerson had a good day at school today, as usual really, and made a handprint pumpkin for arts & crafts time.

Look at what popped up in my memories today! This was Trunk or Treat 2017 – Jeff and I made my trunk into Metropolis, and he was Superman, I was Superwoman, and Emmie was Superbaby, at only three months old! I loved this trunk and our matching costumes! It was all so much fun!

Ok and check this out – I had 35¢ off per gallon using Fuel Perks, so I filled up today for $1.61/gallon, and filled my little tank for less than $24 total!

I gave Jeff the instructions for getting dinner going in the Instant Pot late this afternoon (shredded pepperoncini chicken for sandwiches), and by the time I got home, it was ready and waiting. I just had to make up some sides to go with it, and all was done! It is the tiniest bit spicy, but I made Emmie a small sandwich for her to try. She ended up not liking it so much, so Daddy made her a homemade Uncrustable PB&J instead, and she ate every single bite.

After dinner, she found the photo book that Grammy had made her to take to the hospital for surgery, and wanted to sit down and flip through it. So we spent about 15 minutes doing that, talking about all the pictures and all the people that she loves.

She also decided she wanted some popcorn for a snack, so Jeff made us all a big bowl to share, loaded up with butter and salt of course, and it was a delicious after dinner snack. Jeff and Emerson also accidentally matched each other today, both wearing purple, and they just looked so adorable sitting there eating popcorn together!

Bedtime went relatively smooth and easy bedtime, although there was all the normal whining about not being sleepy and not wanting to go to bed. Other than that though, she was sweet and gave us all the hugs and kisses, and got quiet pretty quick.

I washed a load of dishes while the rice pilaf was cooking earlier, then we ate off paper plates, so the few things that are left in the kitchen sink, can wait until tomorrow. It’s time to snuggle up and watch some Netflix with my hubby!
