We had a really great morning at church today, no one had to be there early, and it was just a great service! Afterwards, Addie had to go running around getting loves and hugs from all of her favorite friends.
We busted out some trusty pumpkin spice dresses, for the third fall in a row. Since the dresses are big and my girls are tiny, they just keep fitting year after year! And I was also wearing my fall-coded dress to coordinate with the girls.
A new location of Las Brazas opened up on our side of town this past week, so obviously we had to go check it out. It was beautifully renovated and decorated in an older building, and the food was delicious. It was a little pricier than we’d like, but feels like we say that about pretty much every restaurant these days…
This afternoon after church and lunch, I spent a while working to get Addison down for her nap, in her own bed, and did eventually win that battle. Jeff folded a few loads of clean laundry, and then I came and washed some dishes. We also started watching Harry Potter with Emerson for the firs time, and she was totally into it and loving it so much. (Which we were so happy about, because obviously we wanted her to love it with us!)
Eventually, I went back to the kitchen to get started making a breakfast casserole for dinner. I used more of the farm fresh eggs my supervisor gave me, plus the Jimmy Dean sausage with sage (which I obviously browned with a diced sweet onion), and hand-grated almost an entire block of white cheddar cheese. Then I used the rest of the block of cheese to make cheese grits, and baked up some frozen biscuits too. And everything came out delicious.
After dinner, we did a little bit of dining room redecorating. We moved out the old brown piece we had there, swept and cleaned up, and brought in this “new” bookshelf. This was actually mine in my college apartment when I lived in St. Augustine, but my parents were using it in their house for a long time. They brought it over to us last weekend, and we finally got it moved in tonight. And I’m loving it! And now we plenty more room for way more books 🙂
Both girls have been having a bit of a hard time falling asleep tonight… I actually fell asleep in Emerson’s room with her, but she couldn’t fall asleep. So then she went to lay down with Jeff and Addie, and Emmie finally fell asleep, but Addie just walked in to the front room with me while I’ve been writing this, saying she wants me to lay down with her. So I’m gonna go back there with her, and hopefully I can get her to sleep, sooner rather than later…
