Poster Girl

Cutie little baby girl, super cute in her dino dress, and very proud of the poster we all made together last night!

They painted self-portraits in class today, using a “mirra,” as she calls it.

Work was busy as usual, and Jeff had a particularly stressful week of work, so we were very glad when 5 o’clock rolled around, and we got to go pick up our little girl together. We went over to Jeff’s parents’ house for some quick burgers for dinner, and then Jeff and Emmie played on the back porch, while Nita took me to Costco to buy plenty of snacks to take to Jacksonville next week.

The pretty cloudy sky was the only Costco photo I took, but we got plenty of snacks, plus some plates and plastic utensils, just so we can be stocked up on those things in Jax. We are staying at the Ronald McDonald House while we’re over there (and praise the Lord, there was enough empty rooms for my Mama to get her own room there with us as well, so that’s a big praise!), and they provide dinner each night, but while we’re in and out doing our hospital shifts, and spending the days waiting, we want plenty of provisions as necessary.

And the sky was super pretty on the way home tonight too!

Tonight, we started laying the ground work to finally tell Emerson about her upcoming heart surgery. We didn’t want to tell her too soon, because we knew she would ask approximately 1,000 questions a day leading up to it. But tomorrow morning, we are going to get our COVID tests, so we know she’ll have questions about that.

So we read this new book tonight, “Henry has Heart Surgery,” and we’ll read it again first thing in the morning, and then tell her about the test, and then tell her about the heart surgery.

So please pray these two things with us this weekend: 1 – for us as we tell her this weekend about her heart surgery, because I know that’s definitely going to be tough. (I had a hard time not crying while reading the book tonight!) And 2 – pray that we (myself, Jeff, Emmie, Grammy & Papa) all get negative COVID results!
