Poolside Ice Cream

Today has been another one of those very long, but great days! We started the morning with egg sandwiches, then got dressed and packed up, and ran a few quick errands around town.

Then late-morning, we made it out to my parents’ house for a Father’s Day pool party and fish fry. We swam a little, then played a little when we thought it might storm, and finally had a late lunch, and swam again!

We even had some late afternoon poolside ice cream cones!

We finally got out of the pool around 4pm, and got dressed and met Nana at Shoe Station. We’ve been trying to find some new Crocs for Emerson for school from some place like Marshall’s or TJ Maxx, but no such luck. So Nana helped us find some today, to save for the new school year. Emmie also fell in love with these little girl heels. We didn’t get them, but she was super cute in them.

Nana on the other hand did get this pair of heels she found on clearance.

Jeff may not be a tall man, but he has long arms and somehow can always reach stuff that I’m nowhere able to reach. Like tonight, he was able to use his former shoe-store-sales-person experience and his weirdly long arms, to get down the size and color I wanted to try out, for another pair of the orthopedic sandals I’ve been wearing this year.

After we finished shoe-shopping, Emerson requested Chinese food, so we ran to the Panda Buffet for dinner. It wasn’t the greatest ever, but we found the best stuff on the buffet, and managed to find enough of what we liked to enjoy.

We did a super fast bath time for the girls when we got home, and got them into matching nightgowns for bedtime. All of us were just super tired by this point, so we skipped half of the normal bedtime routine, and just got them both to sleep very quickly.

I even fell asleep in Emmie’s bed with her for about 20-ish minutes, because I was also super exhausted. And I’m sure I’ll fall asleep super fast once I actually head off to bed here in a few minutes myself…
