Polar Espresso

(Post for Friday, 12/20/24.)

It was Christmas pajama day for Emerson at school, and Christmas sweater day for Addison at her school. And Addison just always loves a prop for photos. 🤣

I stopped by my favorite cute little coffee shop, The Frother’s Daughter, on my way to work, to treat myself to a special coffee. We had actually run out of coffee and filters the day before, so I needed to stop by for my morning coffee. I got the Polar Espresso from her December specials menu, which was super yummy.

Addie and her friends checking out their classroom elf, and his painting from the night before.

We had a big giant BBQ potluck for lunch at my office, and Buddy the Elf was the bouncer at the door to the conference room with all the food. Then my hands were too full of delicious food and desserts to take any more pictures, but we had a great time.

Grammy picked up Emmie early from after school, and took her for a snack and some stocking-stuffer-shopping. She loves getting a special drink and a bagel from a coffee shop, just like she’s a big girl. Then Grammy picked up Addie too and waited for me with both girls at daycare, hanging out the sunroof of Papa’s little car, watching for me to get there.

Had to play in the leaves a bit before we left…

The girls had some mac & cheese, and Jeff and I had some leftover pork from a couple nights before, and we watched The Santa Clause.

I got a little carried away ordering cleaning products off of Mrs. Meyer’s website a couple of weeks ago. I hopped on there because I wanted to look into the “tomato vine” scent, and just started “adding to cart,” like we all do online, never intending to buy much. But then I hit the threshold for free shipping… and then I hit the threshold for the free hand sanitizer spray… and then I signed up for an account and they gave me a free lemon verbena soy candle.

Sooo I just went ahead and hit BUY! And I got all of this only $42, which is actually a pretty great deal. Unfortunately, one of the hand soaps broke in the box, so everything was covered in clementine soap. I got it all cleaned off, and contacted them about it, but still waiting to hear back so far…

Emerson needed som special mommy-daughter cuddles last night, so her and I laid down in my bed together. She was telling me about some drama she’s been having with some girls at school, so she was upset about that. I don’t remember girl drama starting this young when I was only 7, but goodness I hate it for her. After we talked about it, and prayed about it, I got her calmed down and we both fell asleep almost immediately. So I just had an early night myself, especially since I felt like I was starting to get sick again, and so I wasn’t able to write this post last night.

Sweet little Addie just fell right to sleep on the couch next to daddy, and Jeff was able to carry her off to bed later.

I woke up for about 30 minutes and sat in the living room with Jeff, but it really wasn’t long before I fell back asleep again, and then I was out for the rest of the night.
