We got to school a few minutes before the Walker’s today, so we waited on the grass, and Emmie could barely stand the wait. She kept looking for their van and asking where they were, and then of course got super excited when we saw them!
The babies were a little anxious about getting to school today, but they just haven’t quite yet adjusted to morning drop-off time yet. They’re happy later, but drop-off isn’t always super smooth.
It doesn’t really matter what’s for lunch, when you get to have super delicious chocolate cake and milk for dessert!
Emmie had a good day at school, and napped for two hours. I love this first photo of her class having circle time, and learning things together. So sweet!
She wanted to take her “Henry has Heart Surgery” book in the car this morning, and then was trying to read it to herself on the way home after school. It was really sweet. (I reached back at a stop light to take the photo, and just barelyyy got her little face in it.)
I had planned to cook dinner tonight, but then I used all the chicken for last night’s meal, and I didn’t feel like dirtying up more dishes tonight anyways. I gave Emmie a few options when I picked her up from school, and she chose “Chicka-flay,” and that’s always a winner!
Girlfriend wanted a sip of my sweet tea, but her mouth was covered in CFA sauce and cheese noodles, so I told her she had to clean up her mouth before she could share my straw. So this was her swiping her tongue back and forth until she finally got at least most of it off her mouth…
We also gave her a few of the gifts we had piling up, so we could use some of them on the car ride. I forgot to get a picture after she opened this box, but it was a new set of toddler headphones. (Her real present from us will come tomorrow, but this was the first part.)
Oh this wasn’t so much for her, but for me, but I was glad it got delivered in time, so I can throw that tiny bottle of hand sanitizer spray in my purse for the trip.
And I was also glad this Shutterfly photo book got delivered in time too!
These next two gifts were sent from my sweet boss, and they’ll be perfect car toys, because they’re not messy and and they’re not noisy! 😉
We also got a few more cards in the mail today, as well as this sweet card and the cutest, tiniest little “pocket prayer quilt,” from a sweet lady at our church. Ms. Mylinda also sent tiny quilts to Grandmommie and Mama too, which was super sweet.
Emmie had tons of fun in her bath tonight, pouring water back and forth between her two buckets, wearing her cute little bath gloves.
She loves playing peek-a-book with her towel after bath time!
But goodness gracious she is the most adorable little thing!!
Bedtime went well, and she’s sleeping soundly. Jeff has been packing up his stuff while I’ve been blogging, and then I’m going to pack up some other things for us (like soap, Lysol spray and Clorox wipes), before finishing up some other last minute pre-trip stuff.
Jeff, Mom and I are all only working a half day tomorrow, packing up the cars, picking up Emmie from school when she wakes up from her nap, and then hitting the road to Jacksonville, with plans to check-in at the Ronald McDonald House tomorrow by 5:30. So pray for us as we finish up packing (it’s tricky to pack for an unknown amount of time), and then for safe travels tomorrow!
