Plate Club Nacho People

Please get a look at little sister with her new dress and rocking the sparkly, hot pink, heart-shaped sunglasses again. And of course big sister, just a sweet as always.

And here’s Addie again, with her recent signature pose.

I had another short day at work today, and then picked up Emerson early for her orthodontist appointment. They changed the bands around her braces (she went with lilac and lavender this time), and also a 3D x-ray, to check on some of the permanent teeth on the bottom, that are having some difficulty coming through on their own. We’re just gonna monitor them for now, and hopefully the over-crowding can kinda work itself out. She actually just lost a tooth right near the bottom front yesterday, so now that should help the new one come in…

We picked up Addison about an hour earlier than usual, and then we just had some extra free time at home. I read my book, and the girls watched their tablets for a little while. Then, we cleaned up another little area (underneath the bar stools on the other side of the kitchen counter) that had gotten piled up with junk we just needed to clean up and put things away. When Jeff got home, he swept that little area, and then did the Swiffer wet jet, to get everything nice and clean!

And while he was doing that, I was making nachos for dinner! I made normal ground beef taco meat, sauteed some peppers & onions, and heated up some or the bright orange nacho cheese from a can. Super easy, very yummy. Topped it with salsa, sour cream, store-bough guac, diced jalapenos & green onions (well, I’m the only one that had all of those toppings), and we all loved it.

We always praise the girls when they eat well, and tell them they’ve joined the “Clean Plate Club.” Addie was proud of us when Jeff and I both finished eating, and was trying to tell us that, but she just said, “Y’all are Plate Club!” So we said, “Yeah girl, we’re Nacho People!” Because really, we are nacho people. So it turned into Plate Club Nacho People.

Since we were home early, we were able to have an early dinner. Then while I got everything cleaned up, Jeff cleaned a few things out from the fridge, and we let the girls run wild playing and giggling and screeching. Then we watched some of “Night at the Museum 2,” which Emmie is very much into those movies right now. Well, they watched the movie, and I just read my book.

Addison was super sleepy and yawning so cute and sweet, so we went on back to bed and she was ready for sleep in no time. Emerson was also sleepy, but was feeling a little scared and anxious. So we did extra prayers and cuddles, then regular prayers and lullabies, and then she was ready for sleep too.

I used tonight’s leftovers from dinner to prep a taco salad to take for lunch tomorrow, and I’m already looking forward to that. Gonna be delicious. I’m currently debating with myself about whether or not I’m going to wash the dishes, but I’m just really not feeling like it…
