Our wake-up call came at 6:30 this morning, so I got up super early and watched “Oliver & Company” from Disney+ on the couch together, snuggled up and super sweet. The beginning that movie was more sad than I remember, and my tender-hearted girl was so worried about the sad, lonely kitty cat in the rain. So next time we watch it, we’re skipping the first scene! We woke Jeff up around 8-ish, and made some breakfast. I had the idea to make her scrambled egg similar to our egg-in-the-holes, and she loved it like that!
After breakfast, we got dressed and ready and brushed our teeth, and then headed to pick up our Walmart grocery pick-up. We needed to go inside to look for a few things, and this girl was all over the place, riding the buggy in as many ways as she could find!
She started crab-walking the buggy around while sitting on the front like this, and all three of us thought it was the funniest thing.
We found these super cute kitty cat headband ears in a 3-pack in the clearance buggy for only $2, and she definitely needed them. I also found two 2-packs of $1 velvety scrunchies for me, so I got four for only 50 cents each.
She’s just the cutest, most beautiful little pink leopard girl, complete with her sparkly pink leopard-kitty ears!!
After getting all of our cold groceries put away at home, Emerson and I loaded up and headed all the way across town, to meet the girls at a different Walmart, for some birthday party supply shopping & lunch. It was fun to hang out with them today, and also interesting to be a part of the triplet circus, out & about in public. People stare, and rubber-neck, and whisper & comment, and you certainly draw plenty of attention!
In order below, Riley with the black hair bow, Kensley with the pink hair bow, and Ellie with the gray hair bow.
I couldn’t get a good small out of the Baby Peanut, because both her and Emmie were a little grumpy during the Walmart run. Only later did I realize I think it was because they were both hangry.
We saw a lady giving out free diaper & formula samples, and she also had snacks. We grabbed a couple of packs for the girls to share, and that put everyone in a better mood! Emerson was very sweetly sharing her snacks with Ellie.
We had lunch at Tijuana Flats after shopping, and all the girls ate cheese quesadillas. Side note, something I’ve never thought of before, we had to call ahead to two different restaurants to make sure they had three high chairs first, so we didn’t get that and not have enough seats for all the triplets!
Emerson and I went home after lunch because it was already past her usual nap time, so after she told them goodbye and she loved them, we headed home.
We read one short Snoopy book, and then she was asleep by the second lullaby. I also laid down and took myself a short nap, and then wrote the first half of this blog post while waiting on Emerson to wake up.
Once she finally did, we got ready and loaded up, and went over to my parents house. Jeff had actually been over there since mid-morning, helping work on some projects around their house, so we went over to hang out and play and have dinner with them. One of the things Jeff worked on was repairing some of the rotten boards on the pirate ship, so Emerson was more than happy to give it a test run!
Emerson dug out the frisbee from I-don’t-even-know-where at our house today, so we brought it with us to play with. She kept calling it her “kispy” and that was adorable. We ran around throwing it for a while, and then she needed to do allll the other back yard things. And you guys, my parents’ backyard is amazing! It’s basically our own private playground! And it’s awesome.
And of course she also had to help Papa put some deer out for the corn. She dumped the first cup right at the bottom of the steps, then went back to get another. And she dumped it in the same spot. She went back for a third, and dumped it right on top of the same pile!
Then we scooped some of it back into the cup so she could spread it out a little farther. So I held the cup for a bit while she put tiny handfuls in, and then she worked on it for herself for a bit. And then she dumped it approximately two whole feet to the left… hahaha 🙂
Grammy made sloppy joe’s for dinner, and Emerson ate hers “open-faced.” She didn’t want to try it at first (even though she’s had it multiple times), she ended up loving it once she got going on it!
After dinner it was bath time and jammies, and then we watched a few “Jesus Loves Me” videos all cuddled up on the couch, before we had to head home for bedtime.
Unfortunately, Jeff and I got stuck behind the slowest driver all the way down Bannerman & Meridian, going literally 35 mph, from way in the back of Killearn, allllll the way to the bridge on Meridian over I-10, when we could finally pass them. Which didn’t do much good, since by that point, the speed limit was down to only 35 mph anyways. It was annoying, but hey, at least we were all safe & made it home in one piece.
We had a few minor issues at bedtime, which is pretty much par for the course with toddlers anyways, but then she gave me lots of sweet hugs and cuddles and kisses, and was generally just the best girl ever. All of us are exhausted (I think Jeff might already be asleep in the recliner), so it seems like a good night to head to bed early.
