Happy, goofy girl, on a happy Friday, before a 3-day weekend!!
And this excited face was when she saw a giant cement truck and yelled, “Big truck, Mommy!”
I went to Beall’s Outlet on my lunch break, attempting to find some throw pillows for our new couch. If you have one of their loyalty cards, you get 15% off on Friday’s, so I had waited all week to go today. And then they didn’t have anything I liked! I looked at pillows, candles, women’s shoes, toddler shoes, toddler clothes, clearance Christmas decor, purses, and home decor, and bought nothing. (Spoiler: I made up for it later.) There were a few things I liked, but nothing I just couldn’t live without.
So I left empty-handed, and went back to my office to eat my Publix subs from last night, and read “Little Women,” since I still had 30 minutes left of my break, after my super short stroll through Beall’s.
The rest of the afternoon was actually kind of slow (which was very weird, and I kept crossing my fingers that nothing crazy would happen), and then headed out to pick up my girl. When I got to school, this is how I found her and her new teacher, Miss Jessica! So cute!
We decided to hit up the other Beall’s Outlet, which is conveniently located on our side of town, so that I could try one more time to purchase pillows with 15% off today…
We found two light gray ones, and one blue-ish “home” pillow. Plus a tiny faux fiddle leaf fig tree, which is just adorable. Oh and two new bath towels, because we need to add a few to our collection.
We got Chinese food for dinner from the Great Wall, which is in the same shopping center, because our girl was starting to get hangry, and we still wanted to go to Ross as well. Some of my sweet & sour chicken (which was really good!) and lo mein noodles perked her right up though, plus half of Daddy’s egg roll.
This isn’t my favorite style of fried rice (I prefer the white-ish/brown-ish kind), but the chicken was good, and there was so much of it! Emerson and I ate about half of it, and saved half for tomorrow.
After dinner, we all got a second wind, and headed back across the shopping center parking lot to hit up Ross, where we found two more pillows, and a pair of nice work shoes for Jeff.
By the time we got home, it was actually past Emerson’s bedtime already, so we got her in jammies, and immediately got started on books & bedtime. But she had to brush her hair first with her unicorn hair brush, and I love how far of a comb-over she made for herself!
She set up Charlie Brown and Snoopy against my leg, then snuggled up in the crook of my knee, and read the books to her tiny audience. She is just the sweetest girl!
Bedtime was relatively easy, and she gave me all sorts of sweet snuggles and loves before I laid her down in her bed.
I’m waiting until tomorrow in the daylight to test out all of our new throw pillows. I want to put them all out to see which ones I like best, and then maybe keep all of them, or maybe take some back. We’ll just see how they look tomorrow. For tonight though, it’s time to snuggle up and relax for the rest of the night!
