Emmie picked the photo spot again today, but she needed to do a few quick things in the kitchen before she could turn around for pictures…
And then she was just the happiest little nugget! This big smile is actually when she saw her old teacher Miss Sheila from next door, and she was excited to see her!
So when my Mama brought me their Super Bowl snacks yesterday, she had also offered some to my sister. It didn’t work out for her yesterday, so Mama was going to bring them to Meg’s office today. But Meg decided we should all have a picnic at my office since Mama was coming downtown anyways. So this cute lady showed up with an actual picnic basket full of snacks and food! I mostly had my leftover sausage & veggie pasta, but I also snacked on the artichoke dip, since that was my fave from yesterday. And we had such a great time together!!
Look at this tiniest little girl!! This was after she slept through the night in her crib for the very first time, this day two years ago. She had slept in our bedroom in either the Rock-n-Play or the bassinet up to that point, and it felt like such a big deal for her to not be in our room. But of course, we found out all three of us slept better, and longer, in separate rooms. But ugh she was just so widdle!!! And she had that funny little soul patch at the nape of her neck…
Nana actually picked up Emerson from school, and they just hung out in the parking lot waiting for me to get there. We chatted for a few minutes, and then Emmie and I headed home. Grammy had given me this new pair of shoes for her at lunch today, and Emmie was so cute opening them once we got home.
They’re actually about a size too big for her right now, but that surely didn’t stop her from wearing them around the house for most of the night.
Tonight we had our frozen IKEA meatballs we got a few weeks back, along with their gravy mix, lingonberry jam, instant mashed potatoes, and green peas. And while I cooked, Jeff, Emmie and Pretzel went on a short walk around the neighborhood.
Oh, and this cute little penguin is a tea timer my Mama got me as part of my birthday gift, and Emmie was loving it tonight!
Even though we definitely didn’t need the entire bag, I went ahead and cooked the whole bag anyways, knowing how much we loved the meatballs, and that we’d want leftovers to take for lunch tomorrow. So we both have large portions for lunch tomorrow, plus some extras I’ll save for Emmie, since she absolutely loves meatballs.
I had loaned all of my little faux plants to Nita over the weekend, for them to use as decor at a women’s event at their church. We met up today after school for her to give them all back to me, and I just thought they looked so cute and springy green in this little teal milk crate. And I had the cutest little assistant helping me put them back out around the house.
After putting out the plants, we put Emmie in her strawberry nightgown, and then started winding down before bedtime. We played with some Hello Kitty stickers and watched a couple of quiet night-night videos on YouTube.
Emerson then decided it was time for a bedtime tea party, so she set out her blanket, and lined up some of her favorite little friends and read her bedtime books to them. It was the sweetest thing, but also really, and I couldn’t handle it, and I couldn’t get enough of it.
I washed some dishes while the meatballs were baking and the rest of the dinner was cooking, so there’s not too much to wash tonight. Normally I wash first, then blog, but I just felt like doing it in reverse tonight. So now I’m off to wash some dishes, and then I’ll change into jammies and make some hot tea. Then I think Jeff and I are gonna rehearse a song that we’re singing at the upcoming church Valentine’s banquet this weekend, before watching some tv before bed.
