Phone Repair

We were a little bit more chaotic getting ready for school and work this morning, but we still left on time, and got both girls to school on time!

And we got to see the triplets when we were on our way to Addie’s class too!

My phone has had a weird bright green vertical line going down the whole front of the screen for the past couple of weeks. Jeff looked it up and apparently it’s a “known issue” with our phones, so Google extended the warranty for that issue, in order to cover the repair. But I had to take the phone into the local Google authorized repair shop, so I went running around town today dropping it off at the uBreakiFix place for a few hours.

So I dropped it off around 11:45, and then realized I wouldn’t have my phone for my other errands I had intended to run while I was out. (Like picking up my library books, which I couldn’t do, because I no longer use my library card, but instead use the barcode in my library app on my phone…) So instead I just walked next door to eat a quick lunch at this new spot called Barrio Burrito Bar (which I took a picture of the outside after picking my phone up later), which was super good. It’s like a better version of Moe’s, and I really wanna go back again soon. I went back to work for a couple of hours (it was weird listening to the actual FM radio in my car for the first time, since I couldn’t connect my phone to Android Auto for my YouTube music or my Libby audio book), and then came back mid-afternoon to pick it up. Luckily, the repair was free, and now the screen is brand new and looks perfect again!

And I also treated myself to a big iced coffee from Dunkin, using my rewards points so I got it for free, on my way back to work.

Nana picked up the girls for me today, so I just headed straight home. They let themselves in since they got there first, and I walked in to find Nana hanging up little tiny-girl clothes and putting clean clothes in drawers. I made a quick dinner with some “simply smart” lightly breaded chicken nuggets (a good CFA dupe nugget), canned corn & canned pears, that was so easy and the girls loved it. Nana stayed and helped us clean out the girls clothes a little bit (made a few bags to donate, and a few bags to save for Addie), and she washed dishes while I finalized the girls suitcases for our upcoming Disney trip. She headed out right before their bedtime, so we settled down to watch PB&J otter together. Addie grabbed a snack and Pennie watched her every move while she ate.

After we read a “Lion King” story from a Disney bedtime storybook, we got Addie snuggled into her bed. It took a little longer for Addie to fall asleep tonight, but by the end of our six-song lullaby playlist, she was finally out.

Emerson had laid in Addie’s floor for half the songs, and then moved to her room when she started falling asleep. Then I went to Emmie’s room and did two more songs for her, just to make sure she was good and asleep. I started another load of laundry earlier, so I’m going to go switch that over to the dryer, and then settle in for a little rest before my own bedtime.

I’ve been able to text with Jeff a little bit today, but it was definitely tricky, with the 7-hour time difference, and the fact I didn’t have a phone for 3 hours today. But he and the team all made it to their final destination today around 11am our time, which means it took them about 27.5 hours to make it from Tally to their hotel in Moldova.

But there, it was 6pm, so they got checked in and went out for dinner, and then he went to bed around 10pm their time, which was only 3pm here, and I haven’t heard from him again since then! But, they’re all safe, and they all have their luggage (which was a real concern with so many flight switches, especially since they forced him to check his carry-on at the last minute in D.C. yesterday), and hopefully they’re all getting a good nights’ sleep right now!
