Peace, Love & Kindergarten

Look at the cutest big sister here. I just love this girl so much!

I did car-line drop-off with her today, and it went perfectly and so smoothly.

Addison rode with us, but her persistent fever this week kept her home again. (Jeff and I planned to each take half days with her today & tomorrow, to help off-set some leave time, and that worked really well today, because we both ended up able to work a little over 5 hours each…)

Made bacon, egg & cheese bagels for Jeff and I, and some scrambled eggs for Addie. We’ve had a couple packs of Taco Bell salsa on the table this week, and she likes to hold one and pretend she’s putting it on her plate at every meal 😉

Her and I played around the house for a little while, but it didn’t last long, because poor baby girl was just so tired. She normally has lunch at 11am, then nap at 11:30. But today, she fell asleep with me around 10:50am, without even having any lunch. So I got myself ready, and made a chai-tea to-go, and headed into the office.

Addie ended up napping for over 4.5 hours again today. But once she woke up, Jeff took her to pick up Emerson, and then they killed a little time in Books-A-Million.

Tonight was the first open house and family night at Gilchrist this year, so we all met up there to go together. It was an absolute mad house, but Emmie thought it was so fun, and loved showing us around.

She very excitedly pointed out this “calla-pillar.”

(This is supposed to say, “Pigeon has to take a bath.” 🙂 )

We tried to go to the Book Fair (which I personally was excited for, due to mainly the nostalgia of the elementary book fair), but you could literally barely walk in the door, and we would have had to wait like 30 minutes in line just to buy something. So I sent her scurrying into the fray to grab her favorite book she picked when her class visited the other day, we took a picture of it, and we’re going to order it from Amazon instead.

So once we finally got out of there, we went right next door to have dinner at Kairos. I just ate there Sunday night, but was ready to go back again, and wanted Jeff to try it too. I got the exact same bowl I got the other day, and still loved it so much. Jeff got the chicken street pita, and loved that as well.

As soon as we got home, it was almost 8pm already, so we immediately started on the bedtime stuff. And both girls went to sleep super easily, because it was so late and everyone was so tired from such a busy day!

Jeff has already fallen asleep on the couch in the living room, and I’m sure I won’t be far behind him, once I sit down on the heating pad in the recliner again. (My back feels much better today, it just sounds really warm & cozy!)
