Emerson had a good time at her slumber party with Grammy, Papa and Grandmommie. She even got to go to the bagel place with them for breakfast before church, where she ate an entire egg of her own, and half of Grammy’s bagel.
We had a great morning at church, and then we went out for family lunch at SmashBurger. Uncle Keith, Aunt Suzanne and Grandmommie got there first, and went ahead and ordered. By the time we got there, the line was super long, so it took us like 10-15 minutes to get to the counter to order, and the guy told us it would take another 30 minutes to get the food! So we said forget that, and went next door to grab sandwiches from Which Wich instead, and brought them back over to eat together.
Emmie pulled a hangnail and it was bleeding a tiny bit and hurting, so Uncle Keith made her a little band-aid out of a napkin, and then she was Uncle Keith’s girl the rest of the meal.
When we got home, we took a couple of photos on the sidewalk across the street from our house, because I loved this little outfit, with the jeans & dress & boots!
After a bit of running around and bouncing around and hopping around like a bunny, she was sound asleep in literally two minutes after we started the lullabies.
Jeff and I watched a few YouTube videos and then I decided to just let myself fall asleep on the couch for a nap. Emmie slept for about two hours, and I slept for about 1.5 hours, and felt much better when I woke up.
Emerson requested Cheetos for a snack when she woke up, so she casually lounged around with her head on my leg, snacking and being so sweet. Then she got a wild hair and decided to do some chores, so she vacuumed the living room.
Then we went to the little park down by our house right at dusk/sunset, and it was perfect! Emmie had the whole playground to herself, it was lovely weather, and we had a nice time playing together. She was so sweet and giggly, and she had a great time.
We needed to go to Walmart to grab paper towels and milk, so we headed over that way, and stopped first to eat dinner at Taco Bell.
There was a wreck at the intersection right outside while we were eating, and Emerson was super interested. She wanted to see all the police cars and see their sirens, so once we finished eating, we had to go stand outside and watch for a while.
We let her pick out some “little girl band-aids” and then put one on her right there in the store, because her poor little thumb is still bothering her.
We made it through the store (it was very crowded and a little rough, since we usually do the pick-up order), but we got what we needed and made it back home. One of the random things we picked up at Walmart was a pack of new socks for Emmie, and of course she chose Minnie Mouse, and wanted to wear a pair for bedtime.
Bedtime was quite difficult, because she was just whiny and pathetic, and wanted both of us, but didn’t want to be rocked or do lullabies or any of the normal things. We did eventually work it out, but it took a while, and it took both of us staying in the room with her and singing all the lullabies together. She’s good now, and is sound asleep in her room.
I’m making some Emergen-C followed by a mug of hot tea (feeling the slightest bit under the weather, again), and cuddling up to get warm and rest for a bit before my own bedtime.
