Panama City Beach Day

Very helpful little helpers, getting the car loaded up and ready for our beach day!

Jeff wanted a picture of his Tetris-packing skills, so he could remember how he fit everything in for after the beach day.

And we brought Nana along with us on our beach day today!

We decided to go to Panama City Beach today (instead of our favorite St. George Island), since the weather forecast was better at PCB. We went to St. Andrews State Park, because we always like going to a state park with nice restroom facilities, plenty of parking, and it’s usually less crowded, and definitely less rowdy, especially on a holiday weekend.

And we had such a great day! We had all of our fruits and snacks and played in the sand and played in the waves, and enjoyed a beautiful Florida summer day!

My sweet little summertime babies are getting to be baby bronzed beauties!

The waves were pretty rough and strong again today, so we had to go in and out in spurts and take breaks between. Well, Jeff and I needed breaks, but my little fishy Emmie just wanted to stay out forever and always. She truly is born to be a beach babe, loving the sun and the water and swimming, and all things beach.

And this baby goofball was just born to play in the sand, like a little sand shark, rolling and flopping and burying, and making teeny tiny sand angels. She’s the happiest when she’s covered in sand, which is about 92% of the day when we’re at the beach!

We drank a ton of water out on the beach today, just like always really, but we also packed treat-drinks in the cooler for after we got back in the car and this was delicious and so refreshing.

Look at this crazy tilting house we saw on our way out to dinner at the beach!

We did an early dinner at Schooner’s, and these grilled mahi mahi tacos were very yummy. (But actually, those shrimp tacos with lemon aioli from Blue Parrot a few weeks ago were better.)

Oh also, when the girls were running around in the carport this morning helping us pack up, they were barefoot. And then we just hopped in the car and went on our way! Then about 45 minutes down the road, we stopped for a potty break, and realized Addie had no shoes! So after our ice & potty stop at a (surprisingly nice!) gas station in Blounstown, we went across the street to the Dollar General and found these cute little purple fake crocs for her. And Emmie also got a pair of cute purple slides, but she didn’t wear those yet.

In a shocking turn of events, no one fell asleep on the way home, with both girls just chatting and snacking (and some whining), and 3 whole minutes of the quiet game, listening to lullabies, where I thought they might finally nod off, but nope!

So by the time we finally got home at 9pm (yes, we accidentally stayed down there too long, it was just such a great beach day!), the we were all super exhausted. We forced all of us to take super fast showers so we could get all the salt, sand & sunscreen washed off, and then just about passed out, after a few tears were shed by the little ones. But then, they fell asleep super fast, which was super lucky, because we were ready for bed too!

Loved having this extra day for the long holiday, and celebrating the 3rd of July at the beach! I also took a lot of video today, so later (or tomorrow), I’ll make a cute little TikTok of our day, and share it tomorrow night.
