Pajamas & Birthdays

I was serving in GC Kids again this morning, and we had a packed house today! It was time-change Sunday, but it was also pajama day, with donuts and juice!

And even Uncle/Pastor Bo was rockin’ his onesie!

Addie had a bit of a rough drop-off, but then my friend who was leading her class today sent this saying she had turned a corner soon after, and was fine and happy!

Jeff’s parents actually came to our church this morning, for them to be there when our church prayed over the Moldova mission trip Jeff is going on, since they leave first thing tomorrow morning. So we went out for Sunday lunch together for the first time in forever. We went to 4Rivers at Jeff’s request, and got the Happy Herd family meal again to share with our 4-fam, + Nana, and we still ended up with leftovers again.

And Addison ate TWO ribs today! Which totally shocked us.

And since Emerson was with the triplets this morning, we did our pajama sister pics once we got home after lunch.

I tried to get the girls to sit down and chill with me for movie rest time, watching Lady and the Tramp, but that only lasted about 30 minutes until I was falling asleep on the couch, and they were running off to play. Jeff went out to Walmart to buy some last-minute things for his trip before packing up late this afternoon. And then before we knew it, it was time to head out for the triplets’ birthday dinner!

We were all a little tired and grumpy though (my nap was cut way too short due to crazy loud girls), and we literally barely made it out the door (there were definitely tears involved though). So we suggested Addie try to rest in the car with this sleep mask, and it worked a little too well… Because once we made it across town to the north-side El Jalisco, she wouldn’t wake up! Jeff sat in the car with her for a while, and Emmie and I went inside.

When Jeff tried to wake her up, she crawled up to the front seat, curled up into this tiny ball, and fell back asleep like this.

Addie did eventually make it inside, but she was still a little grump off & on. Time change days are always hard, but especially on the “lose-an-hour” day, with no nap, and a big chaotic family dinner. But we made it through, and there was birthday cake at the end, and the majority of us still had a great time 😉

We convinced Addison to try sleep in her bed again tonight, and so I read her a Disney bedtime story in her room first, before I moved to Emerson’s room to do lullabies with her. Addie actually did really well last night in her bed. At some point though, she woke up and crawled into sissy’s empty bed, so that’s where I found her this morning, surrounded by a million stuffies we had pulled out from under the bed yesterday, and three books we found under there too. But tonight, we’re trying it again, and we’ll see how it goes!

And this tired girl fell asleep very quickly in her own bed tonight.

The girls’ outfits are already laid out for the week. Jeff is completely packed for his trip, and we’ll drop him off at the church around 7:15am, before taking the girls to school. Please be praying for him and all the others going on the trip, for their safety travelling, and working through the week, and bring them back to us safely again next Monday!
