We slept until about 7am today, which wasn’t too super early, compared to some of her other early mornings. We all snuggled in our bed for a while together, and then all of us got up to take showers & baths before church.
And I was obsessed with her outfit today! It was a TJ Maxx find a while back, that she just had to grow into.
And good grief is she not the silliest little girl!?
Grammy, Papa & Grandmommie all had prior engagements, so it was just us and Uncle Keith & Aunt Suzanne for lunch. We tried Sonny’s first (since the Timberlane one finally re-opened), but it would have been like an hour to wait for a table. Then we tried Gordo’s, and it was going to take 25 minutes. (Fellow toddler parents, you know these are not acceptable wait times for food, and especially not at nap time.) We finally ended up at Moe’s, and we got our food in a breeze, and ate delicious quesadillas & burritos.
Emmie went down for her nap immediately once we got home. And then I spent her entire two-hour nap time cleaning the house, tidying up, washing dishes, putting away the Christmas decor that had been sitting in the dining room for a week, tackling some of those piles that build up over time. I lit my favorite candle, put my blue-tooth headphones on, and worked around the house like a mad-woman! (This is one of my new plants/pots from IKEA.)
During that time, I also took a few photos of the couch & posted it on the Tally yard sale site on Facebook. And within three house, it had been sold & picked up & paid for in cash!
She brought all her little friends over, and had a tea party for them. It was precious!
We also colored on this some more (I guess we should take this down soon, but it’s just so fun!), and eventually she pulled this rocking horse over, and rocked next to me while I kept coloring.
All gone! Out with the old…
After the girls came to pick up the couch (they were tiny little FSU college girls, but one of them was super strong and athletic, and her & Jeff carried the couch out to their truck), we went out to meet Jeff’s work friend Ed at Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. And Ed actually treated us to dinner!
Once we got home, I had to get the vacuum out for the third time today. First I did the living room before Emmie’s nap, then I did the couch & under the cushions before the girls picked it up, and then I did the whole living room again. Emmie doesn’t like the sound, so she always wears her headphones, and I tucked her up in my blanket, and she was so cute & cuddly.
Next was Anna & Elsa nightgown, plus socks, then books, bunnies, lullabies, and bedtime.
She was easy to get down for bedtime tonight, which was good, because we had some work to do! I helped Jeff a little bit, but mostly he did the whole thing by himself. He loves doing that kind of thing, and even said, “this is fun!”
He’s almost done, but not quite, so I guess we’ll leave y’all in suspense for one more day about our couch. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a good pic tomorrow & share it in tomorrow’s post! I’m excited to try it out soon, after a busy, productive day!
