The sweetest girl, back in the kitchen making herself some Friday morning tea!

I asked her to smile, and she did this weirdness in the first photo. I told her that wasn’t smiling and she needed to try again, and then that crazy cheesy second photo happened!

She was proud of her Buzz Lightyear bandaid.

And now for some random, interesting reads I found around the interwebs today…

  1. This article from one of my fave writers/bloggers/podcasters, Anne Bogel, about treating ourselves to the simple, small things that bring us joy, and not overthinking it.
  2. And also this article about a novelist (who wrote a suspense thriller set on a cruise ship) who was ironically quarantined on a cruise ship with coronavirus.
  3. And speaking of, here’s an article about preparing at home for when the coronavirus hits us here in the States.

Anyways, I had leftover spaghetti for lunch today, and since I didn’t feel like I could eat spaghetti and turn book pages at the same time, I watched some Netflix on my phone first while I ate (I have a pop socket, so I prop my phone on top of the book/calculator stack), and then switched over to that later.

My Tater Tot had a good day and a good nap at school, and it looks like she got her hair did again! haha 🙂 What a little cutie pie!

I had originally planned to just make a frozen pizza for dinner tonight, but I wasn’t in the mood for that anymore after eating spaghetti for lunch. (Too much red sauce.) So instead, since both Jeff and I had coupons for free sandwiches in our Whataburger apps, we met up there after picking up Emerson, and had sandwiches & fries before heading home. Emmie and I actually sat in the car for a few minutes waiting on him to get there, and she had the best time playing with all the radio and air conditioning knobs and buttons.

Ok even though I absolutely hate this photo of me, I love this sweet little moment, and how much my baby girl loves me, and that precious little expression on her face.

We had some cuddle time, and watched a few songs when we got home, and then we also did video chats with Aunt Megan and Uncle Bo, and then later Grammy & Grandmommie. After that, it was time to get ready for bed. As I got Emerson ready, she got her cheetah ready (he apparently had dirty paws that needed wiping), and then she wrapped her arms & legs around him like this, and said, “Here Mommy, take our picture, we’re cute.” And I said “Of course you’re cute little one and of course I’ll take a picture!”

Bedtime was mostly ok, with some whining and crying mixed in, which is honestly not unusual at this stage in her life. She was still good for the most part, and it wasn’t too bad. She was sweet and told me things about her day, and then I told her it was time for lullabies. She said she wasn’t ready, so I told her one thing about my day, then said it was time for lullabies. But she responded, “Noooo tell me another option, another option.” Which I just thought was hilarious! I said “There are no other options dear, it’s late and you’re tired, and it’s bedtime!” And surprisingly, I got her down not too long after that.

I’m feeling super tired already, so I’m not sure how long I last before falling asleep on the couch, but I think I’m gonna convince Jeff that we should watch “My Girl,” which is one of my all-time favorite movies, and then I can just rest & relax a little before bedtime.
