My beautiful little girls and I all wore our Easter dresses to church again this morning. When I told Addie that, she said, “Does that mean the Easter bunny came this morning!?” I was sorry to have to tell her that no, unfortunately that didn’t happen today…
We were all four on the same page for lunch today actually, in the mood for Mexican food! We wanted to stay close over on our side of town, so we went to Pancho’s. We were worried it would be packed with new FSU students and their families moving in this weekend, but luckily we got there before the crown, and it wasn’t too crazy. Obviously we had to play a few rounds of cards while we waited for our food, and that was fun.
Emerson was loving her little chicken burrito, but I wanted her to try it with the tiniest drop of salsa. She’s always good about trying things, so she went for it. But she was very dramatic about it and didn’t like it. This was her very dramatic, shocked face after not liking it.
After lunch, we went to Five Below for a little random shopping, and for Emerson to spend her birthday month. These are just some of the things she chose, plus quite a few other things…
Jeff and Addison laid down to take their afternoon naps, and Emmie and I did some coloring (she’s actually copying her inspiration from Google, making this page into Glinda & Elphaba, and it’s turning out so good!) and watched a movie. I read a little bit too, and eventually nodded off to take a quick little couch nap.
I made myself a little homemade pistachio iced latte for coloring time, and this was quite tasty! I meant to add a pistachio cold foam on top, but got excited to try it and forgot that step. I also think this would be good next time with some mocha as well, so I gotta do that next time.
And look at this sweet little face. Jeff said she flipped and fought nap time for a while, but did eventually give in. When I went in to check on her at 5pm, she was still sound asleep and so very precious.
We sent Daddy out to Walmart to get our weekly grocery pick-up order, and the girls and I took on a small project. We were recently gifted a bunch of hair products, and we obviously already had a ton of our own, so we needed to organize it all and get it under control. We already had the cart, the jars, and the white trays, so I didn’t have to buy anything, just had to wrangle it all from different places to use here. And it’s so neat and tidy right now, and I’m loving it! So this is right outside the bathroom in our main bedroom, where we can access it easily every morning while getting all the little girlies’ hair done.
We got the groceries put away, and started another load of laundry, and baked a breakfast pizza for dinner. (it’s a biscuit crust, with white gravy, eggs, cheese & sausage, and so delicious. Emmie said she wanted it every Friday night from now on!) Then we started watching “The Swiss Family Robinson” with the girls while we ate, and they were loving it! I don’t think I’ve watched it since I was a child, so I was really into it myself.
The girls and I all colored some more after dinner, and then we got everything cleaned up and tidied up again. I laid outfits for every day of the week for both girls, and then we got both girls to sleep. I need to go wash the dishes, and I’m hoping Jeff will fold a load of laundry. We started watching a docu-series (I think on Disney+ maybe?) about Hurricane Katrina, which was really interesting so far.
Update – Pennie is very cute supervising Jeff while he folds clothes on the floor next to the couch.
