Very adorable little sister girls today, as always, right!?
Jeff got off work early today to get two new tires put on his car, so he picked up the girls from school today. I ran by Aldi to get “only one onion” that I needed to saute with the ground beef for pasta tonight, and ended up with all sorts of fun goodies… I got two bags of Cuban sandwich chips (their delish), two spring Squishmallows for the Easter baskets, two character plushys from Bluey (probably for Addie’s birthday next month), some garlic knots, some chocolate almond cookies, a ham & swiss quiche (that I already baked for tomorrow’s breakfast), a planter, a key chain to hold my Aldi-quarter, and I did indeed get a bag of sweet onions too 🙂 They just have so much good spring stuff right now, and I definitely saw way more that I wanted but was trying to hold back…
When I got home, I found this cute little flower placed in a jar by Emerson, that she found and brought home for me. Very pretty, and very sweet. 🥰
We had delicious penne pasta with meat sauce and garlic knots for dinner, and both girls cleaned their bowls. And Emerson picked out tonight’s record, the original version of Fearless, from 2008. Tonight was actually the first time we played it, and it was so cute with the little heart-hands in the center of the vinyl.
While I was getting dinner taken care of, Jeff had been outside getting started on yard work. The front yard was WAY weedy and overgrown, looking more like a meadow than a yard. Then two older black men pulled up with their trailer of yard machines and tools, and offered to do it for $40, so he took them up on that offer. They had a huge zero-turn mower, and they got it done duper fast and easy. So obviously once we finished dinner we had to go check it out, and it looks so good! We also gave them some water and a Tupperware of spaghetti to take home, plus Jeff helped them load their stuff and gave them two more tie-down straps for the trailer. Apparently, we can’t just “hire” people without also helping them out some too.
After an episode or two of Bluey, and some matching night gowns for the girlies, bedtime went well tonight.
I should deal with tonight’s dishes, but I just can’t make myself tonight. So instead, it’s time to rest and relax and watch tv.
