One Fish, Two Fish

We started the morning with cereal for breakfast, while watching more of High School Musical, that we started last night. Then we cleaned up the living room and that area behind the couch / underneath the kitchen counter where we always dump our bags & shoes & whatnot and gets piled up so easily. After getting dressed, first up was a stop at 7Brew for a large iced latte, and next was the library for some books and playtime.

We next went to Five Below for Addie to spend some birthday money she got, and for Emmie to spend her cash from her golden egg from the Easter egg hunt. We also went to Aldi for a few quick necessities, but I forgot to take any photos at either place. We had leftover chicken sandwiches for lunch at home, with strawberries and chips & dip. Oh, and we also took the couch cushions off and threw them in the washer to get all cleaned up.

We let Addie skip her nap time, and got ourselves all dressed and packed up and ready to go to Grammy & Papa’s house for an afternoon at the pool. But Little Tiny fell asleep on the way there, since she had skipped her nap.

But these two little fishy girls went crazy in the pool today! Emerson got really brave and swam all over the whole pool with no floaties or noodles or anything. I taught her to cross back and forth across the pool underwater today too, and we started teaching her how to dive! And Addison got super brave in her little floatie, swimmin’ all over the place too! Last summer, she literally never left the steps, and didn’t even want someone to carry her around. Today though, my girl was just scootin all over the pool with no fears! One fish, two fish, these little fishies are gonna have fun swimming this summer!

I’m always very optimistic I’ll be able to squeeze in some reading time, but that didn’t happen. Not until after we got out, and dinner was being prepared, I finally managed to read about four pages of this new library book.

This is Addie’s new “baby soup” that Aunt Meggie & Uncle Bo gave her for her birthday, and she was super excited to get to wear it today.

Grammy & Papa decided to make use breakfast for dinner, and little Addie Pie wanted to be all up in the kitchen to help them. She put the bacon on the baking sheet, she helped Grammy mix up the drop biscuits, got the cheese out for the grits, and she helped Papa scramble the eggs. She just sat on the stool while they were cooking, and was just chattering away the whole time!

And this breakfast was delicious and the girls ate so much, because we were all so hungry after swimming and having so much fun in the pool.

They were so tired in fact, that both of them fell asleep in the car. Addison was asleep in less than five minutes, and Emerson followed not too far after…

When we got home, Addie perked back up in her deliriously tired state, and took a bit to settle down. And Emmie needed me to take care of some issues with her earrings, so that got her all worked up and took a bit to settle her down too. But everyone is asleep now, and I gotta get the couch covers back on the cushions, so that I can go sit down and relax!
