Our final day was a lot of work, breaking down the camp, but we still found time to have some fun and enjoy the last day together. (If you’re not already caught up, start with day one, click here; or day two, click here.)
Tuesday: GC Girls Campout Day 3
Waking up with no fog today, meant we had an INCREDIBLE sunrise. So y’all know I took a zillion photos! (It was actually 25, but practically a zillion.) This was the view when I first popped out of my tent at 6:30 on the way to the restroom. I literally unzipped my tent, and had to step back in to grab my phone and snap pictures, before I could even walk to the restroom, because I knew it would start changing quickly and I didn’t want to miss this gentle orange and purple sky!
And this is what it looked like when I returned. It really had started changing so much already!

But turning back around to the other direction, I was gobsmacked to see this gorgeous bright orange sunshine!

The sweetest little group of girlies for this campout weekend!

Today on the breakfast menu was sausage links and pancakes, and each girl got to cook and flip their own pancake, which they all thought was so cool.

I’ve never used a little percolator like this before, but since we have our own camp stove that we use on our family trips, I might need to get myself one of these. I loved it!

After breakfast, all of the girls took time packing their own things, and then cleaning out their tents. We had SO much stuff to do to take down camp, and it took us a couple of hours, but we did eventually get it all taken care of, and packed back up in the two vehicles. Then we went back to have a picnic lunch at the beach pavilions, and let the girls play on the beach again for just a little bit.

For a special treat, Ms. Tina treated our little group of six to some delicious ice cream at Aunt Ebby’s.

And our last activity was a quick stop at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve in Eastpoint. I never even knew this place existed, but it’s so cool, and it’s free! As we pulled in, Emerson said, “Now that we know this exists, we can come here often!” She just sounded so grown and cute.

We finally hit the road back to Tally officially right after 3pm, and I had myself a little Dollar Tree canned latte for some driving energy.

On our final drive home, the other three girls went in the other car together, and so it was just me and Emmie for the main chunk of the drive home. And my sweet, sleepy girl took herself a little car nap, while I sang along to the Jonas Brothers and the (first) Wicked soundtrack.

We got home right at 5pm, and were very glad to be back in our own home. We got the car unloaded, and we took turns getting cleaned up. She took a nice long soak in the bath, and then I took a nice, long, hot shower. Jeff picked up Addie from Nana’s and picked up Chinese food for dinner, because obviously I was too tired to cook. And my sweet girls were both so happy to see each other!
Emmie and I are both super tired, and she was asleep almost immediately when she laid down. I had started to fall asleep on the couch after eating, but I somehow have a second wind now, and am proud of myself for finishing all three blog posts from the weekend. And now I’m gonna get myself ready to go to sleep, because sheesh I’m tired…
