Addie wanted to show off her little Alaska puppy for her first photo today.
And then we had our normal sister pics, in their cute little matching sister shirts from Moana 2.
Jeff took only baby sister Addie Pie to school today, but she had a good drop-off on this Monday morning!
And I took big sister Emmie-cille for her “de-banding” at the orthodontist this morning! And coincidentally, our dental assistant today was none other than my work bestie Heather’s sister, so we just chatted and got along like old friends. And Emerson did such a great job getting her braces popped off! They also took these special pictures and stuff to fit her for the next phase, which is called a “twin block,” to continue helping her mouth grow the way it needs to to make room for all of her big girl teeth. We’ll go back in two weeks to pick that up, and then she’ll wear that pretty much indefinitely…
When she first got them put on back in January, it was weird getting used to seeing them on her face. But now, after only 8 1/2 months, it’s actually weird not seeing them on her face anymore. But she looks so grown up and beautiful!
They also gave her this “congrats” balloon, attached to snacks and candies she wasn’t supposed to eat while she had the braces, like popcorn, Swedish fish, and bubble gum. And she loved that of course!
And since we had been so busy this past weekend, I didn’t have time for a pedicure. So I decided to show up at the nail salon right when they opened this morning, before heading into work. So I got to have a foot & leg massage, in the massage chair, and read for an hour to start my work week!
We had a chaotic night like always at home tonight, with dinner and homework and baths, but the girls were both pretty sweet with getting through everything. Grammy sent us home with this giant bag of popcorn the other day, and Addie was so cute and silly eating it, straight from the huge bag, with the missing button popping open on her little jammies.
Then she built a blanket throne, and dubbed herself “the majesty,” and was eating the popcorn from her “fancy bucket.”
At bedtime, Emerson and I had our little double reading time together in her bed. Notice she had one book she was almost finished with, and one more book on deck to start next.
At the nail salon this morning, I only got my toenails done, so now I need to pick out a color and paint my own fingernails myself. (I wish I would have gotten them to paint my nails the same color, but I’m cheap and wanted to save $10!) And then I’ll keep reading, because I’ve been flying through the second book in “The Summer I Turned Pretty” trilogy today, reading at just about every free minute I’ve had.
