Ninja Sisters

We had a very slow morning at home today, because I was just exhausted. The girls actually just ate some Halloween candy for breakfast, because I was just too tired to care 🤣 Jeff went to help his parents get their giant tv moved from their old house to their new house, and the girls just let me snooze on the couch for a little bit. Around mid-morning, I finally got up and moving, and the girls and I went out to do our little errands. And obviously the very first stop was for a gigantic pecan pie machiatto from 7Brew.

And then of course we did our regular visit to our favorite library branch.

We picked up our Walmart grocery order after the library, and gassed up the car before heading home. I put all the groceries away, and coached the girls through tidying up the living room. I made snack plates for the girls, and did a copy-cat version of the viral “savory plate” that’s all over TikTok right now. It’s basically a like a jazzed up snack plate as a meal, with no cooking necessary.

Mine had salami, cucumbers, marinated red onions, lemon garlic hummus, cottage cheese, green onions, boiled eggs, feta cheese, Wasa crackers, all topped with olive oil, balsamic glaze, fresh lemon & everything but the bagel seasoning. And this was super good and so flavorful. It was fun just mixing and matching all the different components, and making new combos and flavors. I’ll be having this for lunch for a few days next week too.

We had some calm time watching tv during and after lunch, and then the girls played for a while longer, while I washed a huge load of dishes. We also started a load of laundry, and then tidied up the living room even more. By late afternoon, Jeff was back home with us, and the girls had put on some play clothes, and I gave them both cute ponytails…

We loaded up with some books and babies…

And hit up a nearby park for some fun outside in the perfect afternoon weather! This park has a little ninja warrior course set up that’s supposed to be kids 14 years and older, but Emerson has been dying to try it ever since seeing it when we drove by one day. And lemme tell ya, she kinda killed it! She couldn’t reach everything, but all the parts that she could do, she did great!

For dinner, we went to the newest location of El Jalisco over on our side of town, that moved in after a couple of other restaurants in this location tried and closed through the years. There is a great outdoor area and the girls were able to run around and play while we waited for food. And the weather was just so perfect to sit outside.

The girls actually took turns taking separate baths tonight, and I love them each watch 10-15 minutes of a movie on their Kindle while in the bathtub, which they think is just the coolest thing. They snuggled up to get warm together and watch some Bluey, and Pennie came over for snuggles too.

Addie has been attached to this Ariel doll today, and has carried her everywhere and played with her the whole day. Then I coincidentally picked out this Ariel nightgown for her to wear tonight, not even trying to match, but it was just perfect.

They were both exhausted after playing so hard at the park, so bedtime was quick and easy, and I even fell asleep in Emmie’s bed for a little while with her. Today was a pretty great day, and I’m ready to just chill out a little bit more before bedtime.
