Today was a crock-pot day, and I tried a new recipe for slow-cooker marry-me-chicken. (As always, I read and watched a few different recipes and kinda did what I wanted, but this one is most close to what I made, except, I did not sear the chicken first, nor will I ever. That’s the whole point of a crockpot meal, in my opinion!)
Nana grabbed both of the girls new fleece jackets at Walmart for this new season, and in 50-something degrees this morning, they came in handy! I especially love the print and colors of Emerson’s – seems very trendy, I think.
I picked up Emerson and brought her to the gym for her gymnastics class, and Jeff picked up Addison, who insisted she come by and get a hug from mommy and watch sister for a few minutes.
They only stayed a few minutes, and then they went home to finish up dinner, while Emmie finished up class. I’m also racing to finish my current library Kindle book, which is due Friday, and I was only at like 20% as of this morning. But I made a lot of progress tonight, and I’m now at 52%, and I know I will definitely be able to finish before my digital loan expires.
To finish off dinner, Jeff just had to add some heavy cream & parmesan cheese to the chicken (after shredding it), then boil noodles and microwave some steam-in-the-bag broccoli. Emerson thought the “marry me chicken” name was hilarious, and it made her giggle for like three straight minutes on our way home from the gym. And this was delicious, and I’ll definitely be making it again!
A late night of gymnastics, followed by a late dinner, meant a late bedtime too, but luckily both girls were sweet and sleepy, and so all things went well.
