New Hairstyle

Addie was dressed and ready to go for another week of school, and Emmie was still wearing her giant sleep-shirt when we left the house.

Emerson is going to sleep-away church camp on Wednesday, so she’s just spending today & tomorrow with Grandmommie, so she met us at daycare this morning to get Emmie, when I dropped off Addie.

Y’all, look at my new hairstyle, and my new claw clip! Jeff surprised me with this cute book stack claw clip a couple of weeks ago, and it was so cute, but I just didn’t know how to wear it! (I’ve only barely learned how to put the girls’ tiny hairs in claw clips, but I couldn’t manage to get all of my long hairs clipped up successfully.) But today, I finally just searched TikTok for “long hair claw clip,” and after watching one video, one time, I was able to finally figure it out! And I loved it! So now, I feel like it might be fun to see what other fun, cool claw clips I can find to collect…

So Emerson spent the night with my parents tonight, and although I planned to cook dinner for just the three of us, Jeff was really craving a burger, and I was very easily convinced not to cook… We ordered on the app on our drive up to Steak ‘n Shake, and it was read just a few minutes after we got there. We love their $4 garlic burger deal, and Addie chose a hot dog tonight, and ate the whole thing.

Addie found these cute little clip-on earrings when we got home, so I put them on her ears for her. They matched her purple shirt, and with her frizzy, blonde hair, she just looked so cute and sweet!

After some couch snuggling, watching a few minutes of “The Little Mermaid,” (which is my favorite from childhood, and Addie’s current obsession), and then an episode or two of Bluey, we read a few books in my bed, before starting on the rest of Addie’s bedtime routine.

It’s always so strange with only one kiddo in the house, and I always miss my biggest girl, but we still had a nice, easy night with just the three of us! I have some dishes to wash, and a show to watch, so I’ll pop in my earbuds, and prop my phone in the window sill above the sink to watch while I wash…
