Napping on the Exam Table

Emerson picked out this festive outfit today, and she looked so cute. Addison was still sick, so she grabbed Pennie for sister pics this morning 🙂

I also loved her little blue fleece jacket, so I made her stop at the school drop-off for one more photo before running into the cafeteria.

Jeff and Addison stayed home again together today, and although she wasn’t feeling great, and still had a fever, she had a little play time with Pennie girl.

But then Jeff took Addie to see the doctor this afternoon, and turns out my poor little girl has “walking pneumonia.” And apparently, pneumonia is really going around town right now, per the doctors, and multiple people I know personally who have it right now, or have had it recently, including Jeff. Sweet baby peanut was so tired, she fell asleep right there on the exam table. Have you ever seen anything so pitiful? Breaks this mama’s heart a little bit.

And after Jeff carried her out to the car afterwards, she immediately fell asleep in the car on the way back home too.

After work, I went by the Publix pharmacy to pick up the prescription the pediatrician had sent in for Addie. It’s basically like a liquid Z-pack for toddlers, to hopefully get rid of all the bacteria and kick this illness in the next 5-ish days.

Then I went up to Red Elephant to meet the rest of the family for Meg’s birthday dinner celebration. There was a lot of pizza and salad and we ended the night with some delicious Publix confetti cake.

Emerson actually went home with my parents tonight for a little sleepover (she helped them do some Christmas decorating, like a good little elf), so I hugged her goodbye and came home to check on Addison.

I had to fight with her to take the new meds, but I was successful and she got ’em down. Addie had a really long, late nap today, so she’s actually still awake right now, at 9:30pm. Hopefully we can get her settled down soon, and that all of us can get a good nights’ rest, which has been elusive this past week, with all the coughing and sickness.
