We started off a great Mother’s Day morning at GC Kids, for Bagels with the Best. Fruit & cinnamon rolls & bagels, and the coffee (decaf for Emmie) we picked up at 7Brew on our way. Plus, a cute new coozie the coffee shop was giving out for free for mother’s!
It was just me and Emmie at church today actually, because Jeff kept Addie home one more morning, to make sure she didn’t get a fever again, after being sick all last week. We missed having them with us, but at least we got this nice picture of the two of us after service today!
We picked up Publix subs for lunch on the way home for lunch, well, one whole sub for me and Jeff to share, and a container of popcorn chicken for the girls to share. Jeff and Addie both took a nap after lunch, and Emmie and I hung out together, doing a little bit of arts & crafts time, watching a little tv.
Emerson painted a couple of teeny tiny canvases to gift to Grammy & Grandmommie for Mother’s Day. It was all her idea, and she found all the supplies in our craft stuff, and just did her own thing!
Addie luckily woke up fever-free again (she hasn’t had a fever since Saturday), and was actually happy and energetic, acting like she felt good and not sick. So since she was better, we all met up with the family for a big giant Mother’s Day meal at Harry’s downtown! This is one of our favorite special occasion restaurants to visit, and it was special to get to do it for Mother’s Day this year.
Mama gave Megan and I both Mothers’ Day gifts, a cookbook from the Tallahassee Junior League. So fun! Can’t wait to look through it and find some new recipes to try out.
Super yummy baked scallops & grits for dinner, with plenty of bread & their delicious garlic butter on the side.
We had a great night at a nice restaurant (where no one had to cook or clean!), celebrating Grammy and Grandmommie, and enjoying time with the fam!
Just to go backwards in time a little bit, I kinda took a few days off from blogging, but here’s a few minor “highlights” from Friday & Saturday:
FRIDAY
Book club for me with tacos, and a trip to Chick-fil-A & Lowe’s for Jeff and the girls.
SATURDAY
Pedicures for me and Emerson (plus two birthday parties for Emmie’s friends) and some shopping at Aldi & Five Below for Jeff and Addie.
Now, it’s past 10pm on Sunday night, and I’m just about ready to crash, after a fun, busy weekend!
