My goofy little girl, with her wind-blown morning hair, was for some reason very interested in this vine creeping over onto the walkway at school this morning. So much so, that she had to take her daily photos with it! haha 🙂
Today’s weather was pretty nice again, at “only 75-ish degrees. We still broke out quite a sweat, but we had a really good 2.3 mile walk. We found this giant pear tree in our neighbor’s yard, that is just absolutely loaded down with pears. I researched and found that they are generally ripe around August, so we are legit going to knock on their door in a couple of months & ask if they are willing to share! We are even going to offer to exchange them a basket of pears now, for a basket of our oranges in December. And we’re hoping they go for it! 🙂
Even though I had this exact same thing (plus the one with the berries) for breakfast, I had another one for my afternoon snack, because it’s delicious and filling and plus it’s got fruit and protein, so it’s healthy! Right?! (I promise there are banana slices hiding under there.)
And you can clearly see how much fun Emerson had at school today! These photos of her and her twin besties are almost too much cuteness to handle! The boys’ mama & I texted about the photos a bit, and she said, “I can almost hear them laughing!” And I agreed because there would have been SO MUCH giggling I’m sure!
Jeff went and picked up Emerson again after work today. He also had to run by UPS and CVS on the way home, so I ended up having almost a full hour to myself after I signed out. I washed some dishes, and played on my phone, and then got dinner started. And it was nice just to have some quiet time in the house alone! But I was definitely super excited to see my baby girl once they got home!
Emerson found an old candy cane this morning, and was dying to have it. So we told her if she had a good dinner she could have it for dessert. Since she ate two whole taquitos, we let her eat half of the candy cane while we snuggled on the couch and watched “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” and she was so super cute singing along and so super sweet cuddled up with Mama. We did bath time after movie time, and she had a blast and even bathed herself, all by herself!
She also loves to rub her bedtime lotion on like a big girl. And tonight she did her own socks. But like, when did she get so big and so independent?! I can’t even begin to think about her turning three next month!!
So, we’ve had this little stuffed Mother Goose since right before Emerson was born when my friend Callie gave it to us. It sat in the corner just looking cute, but I didn’t even realize you could put batteries in it, until Emerson found the little push-button on its wing the other day. It was dead, but Jeff put a new batteries in it tonight, and we finally used it for the first time in three years, and it was so cute! It plays music quietly and recites nursery rhymes, (it even kind of bounces and it’s beak moves!) and then says something cute like “good night, sweetheart.” And Emerson was absolutely ecstatic about it! Jeff and I both thought it was super cute too, and we can’t believe it took us three years to put fresh batteries in it!
She was super sweet at bedtime, and the whole routine went really easily. Jeff has been remotely helping his dad’s church with some more of their live stream and camera and audio issues from the house tonight, and he’s still on the phone. I was going to put us back to work painting the first coat of white on the cabinet doors tonight, but it looks like that’s going to get put on hold for at least another night. It’s just not a project I want to take on by myself, so I’ll just wait for him. I’ll just snuggle up on the couch with my blanket and some Netflix! And then hopefully once he’s done we’ll still have time to get on one coat…
