So, before my alarms even went off this morning, Jeff was up and showered and out of the house, and checking in at the airport. He’s in Seattle this week for a work conference (that his office totally paid for!), so I’m on solo mom duty until Friday. But we did great on our first morning with just us girls!

And here’s a couple cool photos Jeff took from his two flights – one into the giant city of Houston, and one across what I think is the Rockies, flying towards Seattle.

For dinner tonight, Nana picked up the girls from their schools, took a quick walk around Lake Ella to see the ducks, and then I met up with them at Midtown Caboose. Nana and I ordered The Reagan, and the Monkey Cristo, and split them both halvsies, and both were super delish.

When we got home, we were able to have a video call with Daddy from Seattle. Of course with the time change, it was like 6:45 and super dark here. He had his curtains closed so it was dark in his hotel room, but then he went to show us his view, and it felt like such a strange thing to see this big city life in the daylight, when it was dark here in our little brick house.

The girls ran off and played together for 15-20 minutes, while I washed some dishes and cleaned up the kitchen a little bit. Then Addie ate some of the leftovers we brought home from dinner, while we watched Bluey. (Both girls ordered mac & cheese as their main, and then barely ate it, but ate their own sides, and mine and Nana’s side, and Emmie loved the monte cristo and was jealous I didn’t tell her she could have ordered it; so anyways, there was a lot of mac & cheese leftover.)

I got both girls tucked into my bed, with Emmie’s special pillow, and a super soft fleece blanket for them to share. We read a little book, I spent a few minutes creating my October reading wrap-up, and in about five minutes, and they fell asleep instantly.

I added an extra pillow on the side between the bed and the nightstand, and then we keep an old diaper box all flattened out and shove it down next to the mattress as a little side rail to help keep her from falling out.

They’ve both been asleep for about an hour now, and Pennie and I are just gonna hang out and watch some tv together for a bit, until it’s time for me to go scootch into bed next to my little cuddle babies!
