This precious goofball specifically asked to take a photo with this little green child on the way into school this morning!
And although I don’t remember what she was looking at, that funny little bottom lip is so cute to me.
Dr. Suess Reading week would not have been complete with this photo with the Cat in the Hat this morning! She’s been loving seeing him around school all week!
I started another new audio book this morning on my way to work, after abandoning two others recently, that just weren’t quite catching my attention. I’m hoping this WWII themed one will be more interesting.
I stayed in my office at lunch today (per the usual), eating chicken noodle soup & watching Netflix on my phone. I had only intended to watch while I ate, but then I just kept going and finished the episode, and ended up not reading at all. Oopsies.
Emmie had a good day at school today, even though she didn’t nap for very long.
Jeff and I had originally had plans to attend an event at our church tonight, but after being out sick for a few days, and just now getting back into the swing of things, I was way too exhausted to stay out in public until 9pm tonight. So he went to the event himself (he’s had two more days of “recovery” than I have), and I just picked up Emerson for a night at home. We stopped to eat Chick-fil-A first though, so I wouldn’t have to cook or clean once we got home. And we just had a really great night together!
She wanted to get in the big play place so badly, but unfortunately her tiny legs were too short to climb up inside it by herself, but it was too enclosed for me to help her. So we’ll have to have a play date with a bigger friend, who can give her a boost up to the top next time. 😉 She did however like to drive this tiny car at the bottom for a few minutes.
This little matching game was the toy from her kids meal, and she had such a fun time playing with it. She was actually doing really well finding different pictures that matched.
I had been singing the hair brush song from Veggie Tales while getting her changed for bed, so we watched a few of those silly songs, while she climbed up on the table and kept working on her card game.
After reading a few books together on the couch, we went back to her room to do the bedtime routine, and read a few more books. She opened up her piggy book, and started reading it to me, saying something about “going in the world,” which is pretty close to what it actually says, but then she was like, “no I don’t know this one, this book is too old.” I said, “well yes, this book is older, this used to be Mommy’s book when I was a little girl,” and she said, “hey, I’m a little girl!!”
For prayers, she started out holding her little puppy dog and we said our whole prayers. Then she put the puppy in her bed and got this tiny elephant, and wanted us to say prayers again, and so she folded the elephants hands to pray together. Good grief, she is just the sweetest!!
She was a really good girl at bedtime, and she was so sweet and loving and cuddly. After doing our lullabies, she was sleepy and ready to lay down in her crib. Jeff’s event at church is almost over, so he’ll be home soon. Until he gets home though, it’s time did Netflix and hot tea, unless I fall asleep on the couch before then.
