This adorable mingo outfit has been tucked away in her closet for quite a while, just waiting until she could fit in it. And it’s perfect now, especially since she’s currently obsessed with mingos!
For lunch, I had another delicious bagged salad kit, and started reading a new library book, “The River.” It’s due back on Thursday, so I’m rushing to finish the short 250-ish pages before then. Through the course of the day, I’ve made it to page 94, and I’m really interested in it. Pretty positive it’ll fly by at this rate!
Emmie had another good day at school, doing some crafts and riding tractors!
Jeff had his monthly Deacon’s meeting at the church tonight, so Emmie and I met my parents at dinner for Newk’s. After last Thursday’s antics while trying to cook without Jeff at home, I didn’t even want to attempt it, so we just went out instead! And we had a great dinner with Grammy & Papa!
She is SO silly! Out of nowhere, she just opened up her napkin, put it on her head, and started snacking on a bread stick like it was totally normal! These girl is legitimately so funny. She makes me laugh so much! Actually, it made me think of the movie “The Holiday,” when Jude Law does the “Mr. Napkin Head” thing for his girls. Y’all remember that?
After dinner, we dropped off Grammy at her house, and made a super quick library run. I had one book to drop off (three days overdue), and picked up two more I had on hold. On the way out, Emerson got mad I wouldn’t let her walk up the giant staircase, so she proceeded to have a small fit and laid down in the floor in the library crying. It only lasted like 10 seconds, but she made quite a scene! I picked her up and convinced her it would be fun to walk down the ramp outside instead, and then she was fine and happy!
She pointed at the tree sculpture across the parking lot, and asked if we could get in the “house” with the “people.” I had to explain it wasn’t a real house, and only “those people” were allowed in it.
You’ll never guess what she wanted at home…..
Cookies on the couch! So I told her she could have three before bedtime, and she ended up having four.
Bedtime went well, although she launched a small rebellion when I tried to add one more song on the lullaby playlist. I added “A Life That’s Good,” from the TV show Nashville, because I love that song and wanted to sing it to her, but she freaked out! I had to stop the song, remove it from the playlist, and skip back to the long one & sing it again, before she chilled out. Girlfriend is not good with change! But then she was fine and easily let me lay her down in her crib.
Jeff is almost home now, and I have no chores or dishes tonight, so I’m already cozy on the couch in my night gown.
