Milk & Cookies & Coffee

Pre-church sister pics, including Daisy-girl today! (We were all there early for various reasons, so the girls brought their tablets to entertain themselves while Jeff and I were busy.)

Jeff was there early to work on the production team, and I was there early to work on this little milk & cookies set up. Whenever ladies in our church have a baby, we do a “diaper & wipe reception” after church, where we collect diapers & wipes for a few weeks leading up to the “reception,” and then provide a little drink & snack. This was my first time helping with this. I recruited my friend Kacie to help me, and it was a lot of work, but it was fun and turned out so cute. We had milk, iced coffee, and little sandwich cookies packed in cute baggies.

We had a super fast lunch after church at Whataburger, and then I ran Emmie and Daisy to Fun Station for a birthday party for one of their school friends. Jeff took Addison home for nap time, and apparently the only way he could get her to calm down was to lay her down in our bed to let her fall asleep.

The birthday party was crazy loud chaos, full of like 30 kids, celebrating a pair of twins. And I didn’t know any other moms, so it was not my idea of fun, to say the least. After the craziness with the cake, all the kids ran off to play and I was finally able to find a table to “hide” at in the back corner and just read on my Kindle for a while.

After getting Daisy back to her family, Emmie and I came back home to rest. Even though I was tired from the long morning/afternoon, I was all amped up and didn’t think I could nap. So I did the opposite and made myself an iced coffee. I played on my phone for a while, and eventually ended up falling asleep for about an hour after all.

Then it was back to church again for pizza night at Connect Groups.

It was about 8pm by the time we made it home, so we immediately started on the usual bedtime routine.

And now I need to wash up last night’s dishes that I never got to. It’s been a crazy busy weekend, and I am exhausted, but we’ve had a lot of fun!
