My morning started very early today, when Addison woke up for her first bottle at 5am. I fed her, and she fell asleep in my arms, and I kinda dozed on & off for the next hour, until it was time to get up for the day. After getting myself ready for work, and Emerson ready for school, and Jeff got Addison ready, I put our dinner in the crockpot for tonight. Pot roast, potatoes, carrots, seasoning, butter and pepperoncini’s.
We did drop-off with our triplet cousins today, and all the girls were so happy and excited today. While the big girls were all huddled around Addison’s car seat, they were all singing Rock-a-bye Baby to her, which was so very sweet.
The girls both had good days at school, and Addison even napped a little bit better in class today, which she hasn’t been doing well at all the last week or so.
By the time we got home after work and school, the roast was done, and the house smelled amazing! I toasted up some fresh French bread, and made a couple of small Greek salads on the side, and things were all done!
And it was soooo good! Walmart actually substituted my original order of “beef chuck roast,” and instead gave me an upgrade to “beef chuck angus choice tender,” and we could tell it was definitely a better cut of meat. Soo juicy & tender and just delicious!
Emerson actually said it was too spicy and wouldn’t eat it (it was just barely spicy, so next time I won’t put the peppers in it, so she’ll hopefully eat it next time), so Jeff made her a turkey sandwich instead, and she was happy with that.
I put away the leftovers, and Emmie picked out a dessert, and we got both girls changed and ready for bedtime. Addison was absolutely exhausted, and fell asleep in my arms, with me even holding her in kind of a weird way, while rocking in the living room. So we made her another bottle, which she completely finished while half-asleep, and then was completely out in no time flat.
Emerson was a little more difficult to get to sleep than that, but not too bad overall. She wanted a different blanket than her usual one tonight, and after a few offers which she turned down, I finally pulled out this mermaid quilt for her, that’s mermaid-ish on one side, and has my old baby clothes on the other side. My mama had this made for her/me by my mom’s best friend (who we call “Aunt” Jane), for a baby shower gift, and I typically keep this tucked away somewhere safe because I don’t want it to get messed up. But Emmie was very excited to use it tonight, so that was worth it.
There are very few dishes to wash tonight, since almost the entire meal was cooked in the crockpot. So I’ll go take care of those, and wash all the bottles… after I finish the season finale of Survivor season 4 on Hulu 😉
